Does the BIG 10 Network ever talk about the Hawks?!?

Why do I even waste my time watching them? and I have watched them a lot over the past two weeks and it seems like they hardly plug Iowa. Also, Stanley Jackson just said Northwestern will win the West this year.

Well then Stanley and Jackson should both be kicked offf the team!!! :D

All joking aside if the BTN wants to keep ignoring the Hawks then it's time to get their attention and go out and kick some azz!!!! Also, I think as long as the BTN keeps giving us and everyone else in the big ten $60 million a year each in revenue, then none of the powers that be at the U of I are going to complain.

Personally as a fan I think it's a bunch of crap that it's always OSU this or Michigan that. Like I said KF and company needs to get their attention. Kick azz boyz!!!!

Of course OSU, Michigan and PSU are going to eat up plenty of air time... It makes sense. I guess if it's any consolation I don't think I've seen a ton on Wisky or Nebraska either... It is what it is I'm not too worried about that at this point. If Iowa starts off season hot and say beats PSU we won't be ignored after that.

We always do better when the expectations are low. Im ok with them ignoring us.

I bet we win the West this year. We are built to run the ball and stop the run. That is always a recipe for success at Iowa.

Well said. Iowa is going to have to earn the attention.

As for all the coverage Ohio St & Michigan get, I'm okay with it. They are the B1G's flagship programs and the conference would be in serious trouble without them. You never hear about OSU & Michigan leaving the conference like Texas or Oklahoma and and basically holding their conference hostage.

I saw quite a bit on Nebraska the other night. It would be nice to see things on the hawks but we are likely the 7th or 8th best team in the conference this year so I don't expect to get a ton of coverage.

Ohio St., Penn St, Wisconsin, Michigan........Who are the other 3 or 4? Oh, and we beat Michigan last year. That's a pretty unsupported statement.

We will finish behind Nebraska, Northwestern, Michigan St. and possibly Minnesota.

The BTN spends most of its time drooling over the teams in the East. I understand some of it but it doesn't help improve the competitiveness of the teams in the west. On top of that, the most biased commentators aren't very good. DiNardo, way past his prime, and Jackson, who only knows one side of the ball, are terrible. Revsine, and Pizzo know less about the game than most of us, and Hall is a clown that knows even less. Griffith and Mason are the only ones that are worth listening to.

First off, you're wrong about "7th or 8th best team"...really, really horribly wrong, but that's not the point I would like to make.
BTN is not about fairness or equal time - it's just a company that needs to generate profits through advertising. No different than any other news network. These networks are not there to inform us with the information of the day - their sole purpose is to generate profit. That's why you see the slanted coverage to one side or the other. They're just pandering to their audience.
There are some BIG populations in Ohio and Michigan..not near so many folks in Iowa. They just tell the masses what they want to hear, get 'em to tune in often and selll-sel-sell that advertising time!
If you expect fair & balanced you're setting yourself up for tons of disappointment.
2017 - SHOCK THE WORLD HAWKEYES!!

Yep, and the University of Iowa gets $60 million of that revenue ever year. That's $30 million more that what they used to get and that amount may soon hit $75 to $100 milllion in the near future. If we can start to win most of our bowl games as a conference it will be sooner more than later............chaaachinggggg!!!

How much is Iowa State getting from their conference network??? Isn't that called the longhorn network? Or in ISU's case the short end of the tail........watch where your stepping clone fans.

And that is the mentality that wears thin. It's always poor Iowa, we're lucky if we win. I get it. It's part of the Iowa mindset of downplaying your abilities and attributes while gushing over your opponents. That goes for sports and life in general. I understand that to get air time on BTN, 2015 type seasons cannot be a rarity. Make 9+ wins commonplace and media exposure will take care of itself.

Simple answer: conspiracy. Iowa paid, at the direction of KF, the B1G Nework to purposely report the Hawks under the radar since we do well when flying at such lows.

<<Revsine and Pizzo know les about the game than most of us, and Hall is a clown that knows even less>>

Revsine and Pizzo have FORGOTTEN more about the game than you'll ever know. And that is NOT a knock on you. But they know their stuff, and they've both been doing it for a while. Hall is a "broadcast personality", and has never touted himself as a football expert, nor has the network.

Stanley Jackson may show bias, but he's not an idiot. Most of the BTN folks know their stuff. If they didn't, they'd be on ESPN.

The time for them to talk about the Hawks is during the season. Usually, when they are talking Hawks in-season, it's good.
