Does Ferentz coach past 2020?

Not talking about being fired just wondering if you think he will keep coaching after his contract is up in 2020. I would assume there won't be an extension at Kirk's direction and he ends his run at Iowa that year.

idk, but I am pretty dang sure that if he is coaching in 2016 or later he will have a contract extension, otherwise he is considered lame duck and it gets very hard to recruit when kids don't know who they will be playing for. How do you recruit a kid for 2020 class if you don't have a coach under contract for 2021? Or even class of 2016-19?

I'm not pro or anti-Ferentz leaving or being forced to leave. I just dont think he'll even be here in 2016.

His youngest would be, what, class of 2017 at Iowa?
Somewhere in the 2017-2018 range would be my guess for KF.

If he plays at Iowa, then that could change things. But how good is the youngest? I don't recall anyone saying he is as good as Brian or James. If he were to just go to school, then I don't think Kirk sticks around til 2017 (in the sense that he won't coach that long; I don't think he'd uproot everything after hanging it up).

I'm starting to wonder if the "shelf life" for a coach at Iowa is 12 years... After Hayden's 12th year he never really got it going again.
