Maybe. But on a PG-rated sports board No.Is there a more beautiful sight in all the land than a bewildered and dejected Cyclone fan?
He looks like the guy who brings FedEx to my house.
@1hawkeye1 gave me a good chuckle with this response: “Hey clowns, when your washer/dryer breaks down you call the appliance store and have them deliver new ones.”
It's been exactly 1 year to the day since the last time @docholihawk posted on HN. A couple people here knew the guy was having some sort of really bad health problems and apparently it wasn't looking good for him at the time.
There was not a finer clown-hater in all the land, let's all raise a toast of whatever your poison is for @docholihawk, and spend a moment to post your own personal favorite clown hate moment, insult, or anecdote.
Rest in peace.[/QUOTE/]
Last post was 10/19His profile page says he was last seen Oct. 24, 2017. Do we know for certain what happened?
I and other people have PM’ed him, he confided in some posters here last year that his health was failing and it was to the point where he wasn’t able to post anymore. It sounded like whatever he had he said wasn’t going to get better. So did anyone have a way to contact him? His profile is still intact. I just think maybe someone should reach out and see if he responds, or if anyone else does. It would be nice to know, maybe have some closure.
Doc had cancer and refused any and all treatment. Miss him being on HN.So did anyone have a way to contact him? His profile is still intact. I just think maybe someone should reach out and see if he responds, or if anyone else does. It would be nice to know, maybe have some closure.
I'd be willing to bet the farm he has passed away. Does anyone know how old he was? I remember his lasts posts of him saying how ill he wasDoc had cancer and refused any and all treatment. Miss him being on HN.
... I don’t want to sound obtuse, but someone’s profile being intact doesn’t mean they’re still around. People don’t go around and delete their accounts when something like that happens.
I took this from his profile page. Doc was from Clear Lake. He was 59 and disabled.I'd be willing to bet the farm he has passed away. Does anyone know how old he was? I remember his lasts posts of him saying how ill he was
I've always wondered how many posters "vanish" because they passed. I had a scare last spring where I nearly bit it. I was resuscitated, spent some time in the hospital, (I'm perfectly fine now), but always wondered if something like that ever happened to any poster that just stopped posting.I don’t want to sound obtuse, but someone’s profile being intact doesn’t mean they’re still around. I think most of them post the birthday greetings knowing their friends are dead. I always did. Back when I had a Facebook account. It’s creepy when Facebook reminds you of birthdays of friends who’ve passed. Even creepier when some of their other friends apparently aren’t aware they’re gone and post birthday greetings.
