What happened in the fourth quarter was they started using Fant and Hockenson on the line of scrimmage with their hand down. Penn State switched out of double covering them to play against the run. Both tight ends were releasing from their blocks in the fourth quarter on pass plays.

1. Fant being gone, or not being gone has zero to do with how he's being utilized this year. It has to do with the fact that he's been slated to be a first rounder since last year. This year bears no way on this decision. People trying to use his going early as a way to further digging a coaching staff after a tough loss today is lame.

2. Could be part of why they didn't target fant more early on was because purdue was taking him away. I don't know if you guys know this, the other team has guys on the field too, and they try and stop our best players sometimes.

3. To suggest a coach doesn't want to win, and vindictively doesn't allow his qb to throw to a guy, is beyond dumb.

I think fant should go pro, he’s set to get paid and good for him. He is woefully underused at Iowa.

This is a sour grapes comment. It’s not Fant’s fault he’s not being used and to claim IOWA won’t miss a first round draft pick is the dumbest hot take I’ve ever seen.
