That is a sad statement. Most likely he will have been on the team for 2 years and have played 42 minutes TOTAL against Big Ten competition (Gatens played 38 with a sprained ankle on Wed). I don't think we NEED him back on the court this year. Practice? Sure, why not.

Sadly, he knows the routine...weightroom, class, practice (WCP, if you will). With 10 games left in the season I don't think their is any benefit to bringing him back. Teach him a lesson, again, and see what happens next year.

Anthony Tucker has been cleared by the university to return to the basketball team if Lickliter wants him back on the team.

I'm starting to wonder if we don't even want Tucker back till next year, it seems the team is starting to get into a rhythm of playing good teams close ( Michigan State, OSU) and winning the winnable games (Penn State, Indiana).

Yes Tucker is very talented and a great player, but i think he might interrupt the teams flow right now.

Payne is really the only legitimate PG, so I don't think he will take his spot. He will spell Payne at PG when Payne goes out.

My line-up would be

Payne
Gatens
May
Cole
Fuller

Tucker would come off the bench in lieu of the problems he had to spell May and/or Fuller. Also to move over to PG when Payne nees rest.

Man those were brutal days.

A dream team of Payne Gatens May Cole Fuller with Tucker off the bench was at one point actually a reality for Iows basketball.
