DJK is getting very close to making Hawkeye history!

He is now 2 catches from being dead locked with Danan Hughes and Ronnie Harmon for third all time at Iowa with 146 catches. 13 away from Kevin Kasper and the record of most career receptions.

On the yardage side he is now only 127 yards away from Tim Dwight and the all time lead at Iowa. A big week against PSU and he leaves next week as the Hawks all time leading receiver in yardage! In true DJK style, he will break the record with a 80 yard TD reception next week!!

Career Receptions
Kasper- 157
Hill - 152
Harmon-146
Hughes-146
DJK -144
Dwight -139
Hinkel - 135

Career Yards
Dwight-2,271
Hughes-2,216
DJK- 2,144
Harmon-2,045
Kasper-1,974
Moritz -1,912
Hill -1,892

I think Quinn Early still holds that title, but DJK and Danan Hughes are in that conversation with strong arguments.

Then there is a group of incredible possession recievers like Hinkle, Helverson, Happel in that secod group right along side Dwight , Kasper, Mo Brown.

Had Ronnie Harmon stayed at Wr instead of switching to RB, I think the record books would have his name written all over them and he would have been the standard for many many years. In fact, I think a guy like Harmon with a qb like Long throwing to him, could possibly have a spot to this day near the top of the B10 record books.

I would put him in the top 3 now. A huge final 8 games and I would say he will have a legit argument as the best ever.

I agree with this. IF DJK goes nuts through the B10 schedule (and bowl game) and blows away the stats, you have to argue he is possibly the best. Early still holds it for me as well- but let's see what happens before we anoint the title of best WR in Iowa history.

why is he never interviewed after games or why did he not represent iowa at the big ten preseason meeting in chicago----is this his choice or is he always banned from speaking to the press unless it is press day at the beginning of the season? This is very very strange for a star of the team.

I don't consider DJK "the star" of the team. He is just the most media-quotable. There's a good reason he doesn't talk after the games, and I'm fine with that.

No I wouldnt say hes the star of the team, but he is our best play maker. I think hes got a chance to say he is the best Iowa wr. The problem is that Tim Dwight was known for punt returns also so I think you wont be able to compare quite as well.

Agree. Timmy D was the best punt returner in the country and by far the best ever at Iowa!
