DJ Hernandez to Join Iowa Staff?

I think it was on Soup and GD, after all HawkeyeGameFilm had a write up on GD's style of offense earlier in the year. It said that this system is all about the QB and the WRs being the on same page. In by that they have the freedom to read the defense and adjust their route on what they see from the defense. But they have to do this without communicating. If Vandy and the WRs didn't see the same thing, then Vandy throws to the wrong spot not because he couldn't make the throw but the WRs and Vandy both saw something different. But the problem is who was right, Vandy or the WR?

t.

Hard to do this when you have a panicky QB. People like to say the receivers weren't right for the system. Neither was the QB.

I completely agree. The QB (Vandy) didn't fit this system at all. Maybe if he was in it from his freshman year on up, but not just the spring before his Senior year he might have stood a chance, but he didn't and we saw the results of it.

I think that Soup and GD weren't on the same page therefore the QB and the WRs weren't on the same page. It was time for Soup to move on since GD was staying on again. I agree.

I might be wrong, but that is how I saw that play out.

Sounds like what they called "back yard football". What puzzles me about that is that I saw JVB throwing to a spot numerous times (only to see the ball hit the ground). I get that but when you are a senior QB the game should slow down and you should be able to improvise easier.

I'm sure it was a lot of stuff.

QBs throw to spots in most systems. Because someone is suppose to be in the spot. Just saying
