It is unfortunate for me, because I will not get mediacom and I can only get Dish Network. To many trees blocking a signal for Direct TV. I hope both side do whats right, much like politics only the people get hurt.

Someone posted on Facebook that they just called Dish and Dish told them they would have the game this Saturday. So either they have an agreement of some type or they have a very bad customer service rep.

I just chatted with dish, and they said they do have a temp deal in place, but could not say how long it goes till. I asked them about this saturday and they said they could not comment. They said they are still in negotiation and have worked out deals with 100 of other channels.

Basically they know as much as you know.

Depending on how much of your contract is left many providers will buy out your contract to get you to switch. Ask about it to current provider to find out how much and to presumably DirecTV to see if they will buy it out.

They don't carry AMC either... don't know how people have Dish as they miss out on Breaking Bad, the Walking Dead, etc...

DirectTV is probably a better option if you like paying that much to watch TV. DISH saves me about $20 a month and I love the equipment.

Is this really happening? I have Dish. My in-laws (Iowa State fans) are coming to my house this weekend. We have to have the game. I would switch to DirectTV but I don't want to sign a long-term contract with them. The reason....I live in the leading "Fiberhood" for Google Fiber and hope to get TV through Google sometime soon. But that probably won't work either because I doubt Google is going to try very hard to get an agreement with the BTN anytime soon since Google Fiber is launching in Kansas City first. Frustrating!!!

There are other ways to watch these shows. Plus the equipment Dish has blows Direct TV's out of the water and it isn't even close.

This is so frustrating. I contact Dish and talk to someone named Joven (which tells me they are most likely not even in the country) and they provide me with canned answers which are already typed up regarding the impasse. I try to email BTN to express concerns and when you select a reason, "Dish Network" pops up as the top choice. Then when you try to enter a required field for Topic, there are no choices. Obviously, BTN does not want to hear from fans regarding this and they are clearly trying to get Dish customers to complain to Dish. I hate to say it, but I think BTN carries more of the blame here...but not by much. It's shameful on both their parts.

When you call go to "cancel my service" or whatever Dish calls it. That's who you want to talk to.

DirecTV has Tivo now. So that gap has closed significantly. DirecTV's programming is far superior to Dish's. Esp when it comes to # of HD channels.

Quite frankly if I could talk my wife into it I would just cancel everything and steal the sports I want online. Cable TV is a freaking racket.

As far as AMC or other channels go, I can wait until they show up on netflix. I'm a patient guy when it comes to stuff like that.

A long-term agreement with Dish still has not been reached and the current short-term arrangement expires early Saturday. Unfortunately, talks have stalled and Dish customers may not be able to see their games on BTN. Dish is still demanding preferential treatment, significantly better treatment than provided by our deals with their competitors. We do not anticipate another short-term arrangement will be reached.
