DiNardo says "You can lose to Arizona and still win the Nat. Championship"

It's just smarter to not think big enough and often enough that those dreams become expectations, which is what a lot of people have done. Then, when you get let down (which is next to inevitable), that's when you see people start calling for the coaches' heads. Granted, most of those people are just nuts, but principle stands. You can dream for a NC or Rose Bowl. But don't let something like the NC become your expectation, where you are ticked that we might not get there. Only two teams get to play for it. Boom or bust is not a good attitude to have with those kinds of odds.

I have to hope for the best for my team. I don't have expectations so high that if we don't go undefeated every season or even have 9 or 10 wins every season we should fire our coaches. However, I get pretty down every time we lose, and this last loss was an especially bad one for me. I understand why people don't want to get their hopes up, because they'll end up feeling like me after this last loss (so very very sad). But I've never said I want our coaches to be fired or anything along those lines. You're right, the people that do that are just plain nuts.

We have one running back with any game experience. One true freshman who missed training camp with an injury and another who has a history of injuries as well. And Paki. Not to mention the disarray on the OL and special teams. It's not what typical championship teams are made of.

I bet Arizona contents for the Pac 10 crown if their defense played the way they did vs the Hawks. I bet the roll Cal.

Even with their D playing well ... Iowa probably would have won by around 10 points were it not for all of Iowa mistakes.

Arizona is a good team, however it seems to me that it will be an uphill battle for them to keep up with Oregon and Stanford.
