Things started to head south under Alford too. Lick inherited a tough situation and made it worse.

Fran has the program on the rise thankfully. Iowa was very close to bottoming out.
 


i guess Alford should have signed that 5* center, Hummeland Gary and then left, but lets blame Alford for running off Freeman, Peterson and Smith off,
Alford was on the verge of getting his 2nd top ten class, yup that is really destroying a program.

Alford was always on the VERGE of signing top classes. Never succeeded, and then Iowa had to go into fallback mode. Happened more often than not.

Well said. This season was the first time in several years that I was excited about Iowa basketball. Actually I think I've watched more basketball this season than the past 5 years combined.

Dude, **** the fick up. Alford was an asshat while at Iowa and was payed to learn how to coach. He made more mistakes than necessary and should have been fired. He did have a whole lot of hope each year but Tyler smith was gone regardless. Alford knew he was gone well before the season was out and had already made contact with several schools. Stfu about what afford could have done. He had 10 yrs and delivered sh!t.
