They play two PG's which is not uncommon. We did it last year with Sapp and Mike

Yes. And as you've said some players, including Jordan, are better suited to play off the ball. If Iowa had another PG or Fran played Williams at PG last night maybe Bohannon would have had a better scoring night. Basically you are comparing apples to oranges. I agree though Carsen Edwards looks like a promising player.

I agree we'd be a lot better if Bohannon wasn't running the point. That's why all the recruiting misses at the position came back to bite us

J B is not going to be quicker. D V and Hawk 22 are never going to stop. It's genetic. Therein is the problem.

So I guess my point is you can't really compare the two when they are in completely different situations.

I actually don't think Jordan played that bad, he had an off shooting night, but so did the rest of the team outside of Ellingson. He rushed a couple of bunnies that he should of made and he normally hits a few of those 3s. He had 4assists/ 0 turnovers. I'm sure his defense wasn't great but quite frankly I don't think there was one player on our team that played good defense and our coaches strategy was dumb IMO. I think we saw more Williams last night because he is better fit to run that press.

He shot 25% from the floor, he's shooting 32% from the floor on the season. Not sure it was an off shooting night or just something we will have to get used to

Off shooting was the 0/4 3s. He knocks down 2 of those like he normally does (before you try and troll this yes I know he's not a 50% 3pt shooter, if he makes 2 I'm guessing he shoots another say 2/5) and he has 12 points/ 4 assists/ 0 turnovers.

Bohannon is a streaky shooter so there will be plenty nights like last night in my opinion. I feel bad for him because he shouldn't be in the position he is. He'd be much more effective playing 15 minutes off the bench and playing off the ball. I think his efficiency numbers would be way higher if that was the case. He's just not a Big Ten caliber starting PG.

I was actually a big doubter of Jordan, but have been pleasantly surprised with his ability so far. He is a Big Ten caliber PG in my mind. He certainly has work to do in some areas.

I think people just see someone who can shoot 35% from 3 and think they are better offensively than they are. We can all agree he's a liability on defense and his offensive numbers are at the bottom on the team

I don't think he's a defensive liability. He certainly has defensive limitations but he'll continue to get better with more time and an offseason to get quicker and stronger.

His offensive numbers, even the advanced statistics will continue to improve. He's only started 7 college games. I thought his ball handling looked much better last night. His shooting ability is great in that he can make 3s, but also that guys have to guard him so far from the basket that it gives him the ability to get by them, even though he's not the most explosive player. That happened a few times last night, he finished one and missed a couple others. I believe with time he will become a better finisher around the hoop.

I hope he improves. I think saying he's shown you he's a Big Ten caliber PG now though is very premature

This is what comes to mind when I think of both of them.

Chuck Woolery would be proud Melrose, nice job...

Just in case some are too young to remember, Andre Woolridge was the last 1st Team All Big Ten PG we have had. That was mid 90s. Before that it was Ronnie Lester I believe? We have had 3 players receive 3rd team honors - Oliver, Freeman and Horner since Woolridge. Safe to say Iowa has had some trouble recruiting elite PGs like football has trouble getting WRs perhaps.
Not trying to be critical of past or current players, we had some decent ones like Oliver and Horner. My comment above though in regards to maybe its been so long we've forgotten what an elite PG looks like was trying to remind everyone that its been a long long time since Iowa has had a great PG and I think we tend to do what all fans of teams do, and that's prop our guys up maybe higher than they really are. Heck, for years I used to think there was no one on the Cubs we could trade because they were "my guys". :)
I like Bohannon for instance, as a solid rotation player for 4 years who will hit some 3s. But when you look at Oliver and Horner only being 3rd team selections, can anyone picture him being better than that? Hard for me to I guess.
Just something to think about. Count me in the group that thinks we still need a big upgrade at the position and need another recruit.

Hawk5656 is CyTwins? That dude is obsessed with Iowa. Their whole fan base is judging by their in-state forum but he takes it to a psychopathic level. Funny, he always claims he never visits HN but continually references Miller or anybody who writes about Iowa.

Yeah he is CyTwins. Debates in the same manner, uses the same phrases, talks in the same absolutes, moves the goalposts all the time.

The problem with a troll where you pretend to be a fan is that you are happy when they lose instead of pissed off and angry like everyone else. Also real fans are happy when Iowa beats it's in state Rivals. Twins hasn't been upset about a loss yet, the most animated he got was how Fran wouldn't shake hands.....Twins was also "absent" for nearly a week after the ISU win.....after the UNI win he still just wanted to bash our players and talk about how much better ISU was than Iowa.

Overall it is a horrible Troll job and Twins should be embarrassed of his shoddy work. Doc spotted his troll before he even had 50 posts. Since that point he was on my "to troll" list to see if he was a troll. Needless to say he has taken every piece of Clown troll bait I have even dangled, and has consistent proven himself to be a Clown Troll.

I posted 20+ times the day after we beat ISU so you can probably just drop that myth.

I think they were all positive. I was talking a lot of smack to my ISU coworkers that Friday I do remember that

Really? I would really love to hear what positive Iowa smack talk you would run. I've yet to see it or hear it. Give me a little sample of some 56 running some smack to his ISU co workers.

Can't remember what was all said I just know I was putting salt in the wound letting them know their basketball program isn't near as good as they think it is. Went from hoping to win the conference to just hoping to get into the tournament in less than a year
