Bringing in politics

I touched base with some friends who follow college football in Alabama and the SEC and they both confirmed that there is nothing to worry about.

We haven’t had linebacker play since hodge n greenway. For some reason, stubborn kf doesn’t recruit pure talent at this position either. It’s yet another “overachiever” position for him

LB position is critical for Iowa, and depth can be an issue when multiple leave at the same time. Especially when it's the same group for 2,3,4 years.

But no linebacker play since Greenway, Hodge? Not so sure about that.

Angerer, Hitchens, Kirksey, Nieman, Jewell,

The next tier would be the Morris, bower types that are serviceable but take a while.

I'll agree it is a position that KF seems to like to "develop" rather than recruit day one type talent (which is of course more difficult ). That multiple year development causes a void for a year or so and any additional attrition or injury exasperates it.

Always would be good to have more talent and depth at LB, and yes the departure of 2.5 NFL lbs left a void.

That said, overall, this has not been a position of concern outside of a couple years after a mass exit.

Lol what?

We just graduated the best LB in school history last year. We've had nearly a dozen guys make all-conference teams since then, nearly as many make it to the NFL, and 2 consensus all-Americans.

If anything, we're spoiled by our LB play, when guys like Quinton Alston (2nd team all Big Ten by the coaches) are considered average during that time period.

He’s been on Twitter liking tweets the last few days but they’re all Hawkeye related so.. I don’t know. Weird situation.

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless the rule states they can’t indicidually tweet but can like/retweet stuff? Which I highly doubt.
I actually think that's how the rule works. Looking quickly thru a couple of guys' twitter handles (Tyrone Tracy, Julius Brent's, DJ Johnson, and Alaric Jackson to be precise), there's still plenty of activity liking and retweeting things. Just no actual tweets.

I've always viewed the twitter thing as since it's designed for very instantaneous takes, it lends itself to emotional outbursts, or speaking without thinking.

I’ve seen Amani Hooker like things during the season. A few others as well but can’t think of names at this point.

The Twitter ban restricts guys from Tweeting. Not sure it covers liking Tweets.

The rule seems to be only covering tweeting itself, not being in twitter or using twitter.
