3 from PSU, 2 from Cornell... Time for us to swing the momentum here. As much as I hate to admit it, Taylor deserved it.

I find it interesting that Dake gets alot of hype for winning titles at 3 diff weight classes but yet finishes 3rd in trophy votes. Maybe the voters saw the same staller that we did?

Very impressive stats for David Taylor. (Only 2 regular decisions the entire season)

Wish the sport had more wrestlers who were as aggressive and entertaining as McD, Taylor and Ruth.
Unfortunately many of the NCAA final matches were quite boring with stalling and defensive wrestling the norm.

Another trivia ? Who was Taylor's 2 decisions to...

Taylor is ridiculous. He is at the elite level with names like Cael/Askren/Metcalf.

I just can't put Dake on that level. Don't get me wrong, he's a stud and is probably going to win four titles but if they were to wrestle tomorrow, I'm betting big money on Taylor.

I'd take Askren and Metcalf off that list. Cael and Taylor might stand alone.
I loved watching Metcalf, but even when he was destroying a kid the match would look brutal and Metcalf looked like he was working and pushing hard.

Taylor and Cael are the only wrestlers I've ever seen that makes wrestling look way too easy. Never gassed, in danger, flustered, etc. They just destroy the field at the NCAA's and make it look like they didn't even have to work.

Just wanted to reply to this and say I look forward to seeing Dake go for his 4th title at a 4th weight class.
Many of you may know that Dake pinned Taylor in the second period at the olympic trials. As much as I wanted us Hawks to win a title at every weight class, I woudl rather have Dake win a 4th rather than Taylor win another title.

I wouldn't put Cael and Taylor in the same universe. Cael was undefeated in College. Taylor got pinned in the finals last year. Taylor is a great wrestler but he isn't even in the conversation with Cael.

Really? this is all because he lost ONE match? because through their first two years of college wrestling Taylor has exactly one more loss than Cael had. and that means they aren't in the same universe? by that logic, Gable, John Smith, Lincoln mcilravy, or any other college wrestler ever aren't in his universe.
Sure Taylor has two years left and could lose in those two seasons (however if Dake and Howe are not at 65 next year then there is no chance in hell he loses) but at the pace he is on, he certainly can be in the same conversation as Cael.

Eyeball test. Taylor is unlike any other NCAA wrestler I've seen except for Cael.

The freestyle last month is really interesting. Dake and Howe really showed that are on pace for much greater international success than Taylor and for me it definitely marks down what I thought of his ability.

Wrestlers in the same universe? Comparing free style to folk style? Calling Dake a staller because he beat an Iowa Wrestler? Dake never redshirted and is a three time NCAA champion at three different weights. I sure wish this staller was wrestling for the Hawks.
