I see that Raih has been named wide receivers coach for the Arizona Cardinals.

He'll have his hands full.

Players aren't loyal anymore like him. If he does retire he'll be missed. I always thought it'd be cool if he'd have went to MN a few yrs ago (pre Diggs and Thielen) to finish up his career where he's from. But heck he's kept playing and done great with crappy QBs and teams. No brainer HOFer

Unfortunately I see the players being just as loyal to their franchise/teams, as those franchise are to them. I think loyalty in professional sports, at least with regards to how things used to be, is a thing of the past.

I feel like I am getting mixed signals whether Raih is a great coach or not. He seems to move around a lot, but never gets promoted to OC anywhere.

But he keeps getting hired as an assistant in the NFL, which is still good. Just not one of the superstars yet.

I wonder what kind of influence Raih will have a Fitz's decision.

At the start of the season last fall Fitz put his 12 car garage in his Paradise Valley home up for sale. Many thought he would retire or go elsewhere. I saw a tweet just today wheeere he was asked if he would go to another team and he said 'I'm a loyal cat". Maybe he will just downsize.

Cardinal fans wish him well no matter what he decides, he's had a great career. He is on the cusp of some of the all time receiving records so maybe he comes back. He's been pretty injury free his entire career, I hope he stays that way.

It's a 2 way street to be sure. It just makes one wonder why was it mutual between them? It's great to see wish there'd be more of it for sure.

For some reason, I really do not remember David Raih as a Hawkeye. I realize he had an injury plagued career at Iowa with arm issues.

Exactly the reason that I don't watch the NFL, or have a team, unless there's a few Iowa players

I grew up a fan of Chicago and KC so I've always supported them, but nothing about the NFL has ever been on par with college football in my eyes. Then again that could have something to do with how many Hawkeyes have ended up playing in GB and I won't lie I cringe every time I see it happen.

Fandom I think has somewhat shifted sec to this as well. Are fans now more fans of players than teams regardless what team they play for? This even more in basketball. I think there are fans of players more than a hardcore fan of a team. The landscape has shifted.

Yep, fantasy football has contributed to this change of loyalty of teams to players as well IMO
