Daily Iowan's Article today on the Iowa Band

And a couple years ago all this board said was, "The U of I is ruining everything for the fans!"

Nobody is saying make the band stay home, or "deal with it". What we ARE saying is, "This crap happens. Nothing new to see, here."

That, and, why is there NO video? Anywhere? Of ANY of this? Showing an injury after the fact is only half-compelling.

Again, though, I say, leave the band at home. Or, cancel the series with ISU. Problem(s) solved.

All of that could have happened pretty quickly. People don't carry cameras marching on the field and how many would just be videoing for the heck of it.

Nobody videoed A Brown's assault. Using your logic, we should be gripping about Washington right?

Hey spaz. I'm not going to cry to my university. I'm going to walk over to that section and whoop everyone who looks at me's ass or get my ass whooped but some people are going to lose some limbs and teeth either way. My point is...dont F'ing cry to the university, tell the cops right away otherwise, it wasnt as bad as you think it was. If you werent immediately compelled to tell the cops or defend yourself, it wasnt so bad. My whole point....dont go crying to the university.

Hey Spaz, you are obviously one of the tough guy drunks staggering around Kinnick before and after games. You know, the big sweaty, fat asses that scream at our own players and question every play call. The kind of person who gets a kick out of ruining the day for anyone not interest in getting drunk. The kind of guy who yells "F you" at every opposing team's fans as they walk by. I will give you a pass for not understanding civil behavior.

Also, you have no idea whether any of the assaulted have spoken to police or not. Maybe they thought their best course of action was to report to their band director/school officials and let them handle?

You are the kind of guy that can't read. If you were able to.....wait.....let's not go there. Civil behavior? You type but cant read what you type? My point was I'd defend myself or contact PROPER authorities. Read my man, read! If you can not, ask someone to do it for you. You continue to argue, but you dont know what you are arguing. Are you arguing that law enforcement isnt the best way to handle this? That is my only argument. Go cheer for ISU or the technical college you dropped out of. Hawk fan here!

I would guess at the time she was pretty upset and unsure what to do or whom to report the incident to.. Give her a break. Too bad you weren't around to go "tear some limbs off".

People act differently to threats. Some are more prone to confrontation, but also how many people are present, how severe the injury, past trauma... all of it goes into an equation.

We all know that often times universities try to handle things inhouse and make it seem to the victim (and if the person was minding their own business when attacked, by definition they are a victim) that the University has your best interest at heart when in fact the interest is in protecting the University. It takes a while to sort that out. Iowa isn't so different than other U's we like to make fun of such as MSU and PSU. It's how it happens. Also works that way in business. Could you imagine being a female nurse at a large physician-owned clinic with political ties? Or a nurse at UI blowing a whistle on errors by a doctor at Stead?

Some on here need to see how this progresses before clobbering the victims. Otherwise UI is no different than MSU.

WTF? Why do you always make these nonsensical leaps?

Makes total sense, they were both potentially crimes....
Out of left field, but there is some logic there.

Could have also said that there were no videos of Capone's tax evasion, or any of the possible crimes that Billy the Kid has been attributed to.

Out of left field, but a bit of logic....
