I agree, for those of us that have a job, I go to work with the thread still deep in good discussion; only to find it crashed and burned the first glance after work!
I was really hoping the topic was going to be picking up steam with more info/leads.

How about this for more info/leads, I heard from my wife that her cousin heard from her boyfriend who heard from his aunt who heard from her dad who heard from his next door neighbor that Stoops would be the next D coordinator at Iowa.
Sorry I can't revel the source but that is what I heard.

Back on topic for a second the thread has pretty much gone dormant recently after generating quite a stir. The general thought in the thread is that the deal has been made and it is a certainty of happening. Since there is no given timetable I guess the only thing to do is wait and see. I will say this, the OP over there has been a member for 122 months meaning he's dumped over 1200.00 in membership fees. I could see a newer member sticking their neck out on a rumor but for somebody of that tenure to do so makes me think this guy truly trusts his source.

This should come as no surprise at all. With Norm's Health issues these last 3 years, Iowa best be pro-active in this department. If Stoops is interested Iowa needs to take a strong, strong look.
Just to bad threads like this get ruined. This Site starting to get pretty ridiculous, actually out of contro IMO some are really stretching the boundaries on things.

but this thread was about Stoops being hired to replace our current DC with a press conference that was to be held yesterday.
there have been so many threads about this topic (who is our next DC) over the years it makes your start to wonder. it's borderline pathologic.

Somebody is playing a bad game of telephone then. I have been the one relaying what the poster on HR has been saying and never was a "press conference" ever brought up in the discussion. Here is the last post from the guy that supposedly has the source:
"to clarify what happened, during the time i was told the news , (naturally pretty exited) i forgot to ask if this was effective immediately , after i originally posted , i went back to source and was informed that mike stoops will be the nxt def coordinator, but dont know when its gonna to be made official , could be a week , month, after season , ur guess is as good as mine

Why discuss a topic that is based solely on a rumor? If Stoops dosen't come to Iowa, all of these posts are absolutely worthless and an incredible waste of time. Let me see the facts and then I can make at least an attempt to add to a constructive discussion. I guees it makes more sense to have a discussion based on facts rather than conjecture. JMO
