Interesting but probably a good fit for all parties. Hunter is a solid wrestler but not great. I would look for a national qualifier but probably not much more next year. Has the chance to get a lot better in that room though and could make some noise in a couple of years.
The funny part is that this is probably better for Iowa and some of the other top teams. I look for Wisconsin to be a bigger threat than ISU for the next few years...

Agree. Wisconsin seems to have the ball rolling. I wonder if they are fully funded in terms of scholarships. I'm guessing they were counting on Hunter while Thielke is on his 8 year college/Olympic plan.

From what I understand this might not have really come down to grades completely. It's not like Wisconsin is a clearly better school than ISU folks...
Either way this is a very nice pickup for ISU and should fit nicely into there plans for the next 3 years. It makes things interesting at Wisky for a year or two as well with Thielke possibly taking a redshirt when he gets there.
