Last night's game was lost when the Cubs (more specifically Wells) threw a first pitch fastball to Furcal (LA's hottest hitter) and it got drilled for a 2 run HR. Both Len and Bob mentioned that they would not throw Furcal a pitch to hit in that situation since he was already 2 for 2 on the night. It's a tough decision to put the lead run possibly on base, but throwing a very hittable fastball on the first pitch was not good.

And yes, the pitch to Byrd in the 9th that was called strike 2 was really bad. I thought Lou was going to get booted too, but he held back after first arguing vehemently (love that word). Tough loss. Oh well.

Good point. I'm sure the first loser in the Lee deal will be the first to jump in on Lilly.

Well, Cliff Lee has now been traded to Texas (almost the Yankees). Lilly gives up a 3 run HR early, and is now down 4-2 with 2 men on in the 3rd. We need to get him traded soon.
