Agreed. Hero worship is alive and well.
I will follow what happens with Ryno, but I think the Cubs' decision was well thought out.

a few notes already pat listach is to be named the bench coach which isnt good for our boy sandberg. Robinson Chirinos has been added and cubs don't know where they want to put soto.

Adam Dunn just signed with the White Sox, I really wanted him in a Cubs uniform. I don't think the Cubs are going to do anything this offseason, they will sign a few has beens but that's it.

A few FA 1B by the name of Pujols and Gonzalez at the end of the year. Much more free money for 2012 so that's why.

When does Fielder come up? I'm not guaranteeing any extensions, and trades are always possible as well. Maybe they're thinking Vitters move to 1B. i don't know. I don't mind the 1 yr contract for a guy that hit .196 last year. Long term deals haven't worked out well for the cubs, but I do think that there is no way Fukudome is with the Cubs next year.
I should mention that the cubs have some good prospects at catcher and maybe Soto moves to 1B in the future.

First of all Pujols is not a FA this year. Secondly, you must be out of your mind to think the Cardinals would let the Cubs get Pujols. They would sell the farm before letting that happen.free agents are out there and actually 142 to be exact. nady and ramirez are the only cubs on that list.

Only the Cubs would spend the money they did on Pena after he is coming off of the worst season he has had. I love it. Keep throwing that money around please!

Pena for $10M or Berkman for $8M, I'll take Pena.
But watch out for the Cards the acquisitions of Berkman and Theriot will take them back to the promise land for sure.

haha, i'm sure they got Theriot for his power. Also I will guarantee (barring serious injury) that Pena has a better year than last year.
