Cubs-Mets 4/19

@hagertony
Lefty Jon Niese is on the hill for the mets and Piniella said he was going to tinker a bit against left-handed pitchers to try to get the offense going after it scored just five runs in the final two games against the Astros, both losses. According to Piniella, Marlon Byrd will move to the leadoff spot, Jeff Baker will hit second and Ryan Theriot, who had been hitting leadoff, will hit eighth, moving Geovany Soto up a slot to seventh. There's even the chance he'll move Xavier Nady into the cleanup spot. Get used to it because the Cubs also face Oliver Perez and Johan Santana in this series.

Randy Wells
1-0, 2.92
Jonathon Niese
0-1, 6.55

Wells pitches better on the road and Niese struggled his last game giving up 5 earned runs in 5 innings. Look for Cubs to get a W today

I thought the Cubs showed alot of heart getting out of that bases loaded, 1 out situation...

Too bad they were on offense when they did it...

Usually I would be really mad right now, but I just don't care as much this season. They need to blow this team up and start from scratch.

That was a bad game for the Cubs overall. By the way, can we get Soriano to run hard when he hits a ball? Please.

Just a bad, bad ball club. It's almost comical how they find ways to lose. What is this, the 5th blown game? Of course it would help if the team could actually hit too. Sigh...

Correct. Someone needs to get that big hit; the bullpen goes out there everyday knowing that it has to be almost perfect.
