COWHERD GETS OWNED ON AIR OVER IOWA DRAFT PICKS

I learned long ago that Iowa football will never be respected by the media. Unless this team goes 64-1 in the next 5 years and plays Alabama, OSU, Clemson, and Penn State every year on the road, guys like Cowherd will bitch. I just let it roll.

It seems knowledgeable media and football guys respect Iowa's program, including most NFL analysts, personnel staff, and gm's. It's the "sports entertainment talking heads" that have have the issue. KF turned down Cowherd more than once back in the '02-'05 run...he never forgot. It's glorious.

I thought it was Jim Rome that he rejected back then? Was Cowturd even a name back then?

That was Rome back then. During Iowa's 3 years in a row of finishing in the top 10 Rome wanted to get KF on. KF declined it as it just wasn't his cup of tea. (big shock) Rome took that as a diss and pretty much took the negative angle on everything Hawkeye for awhile. Although I seem to remember him having Robert Gallery on his show during that time too. It is what it is. But yeah Cowherd was just a twinkle in KFs eye back then he was a nobody.

Not sure why KF didn't talk with Rome,
as Rome is nothing short of professional and respectful during his interviews.
His call-in part of the show, with all the "takes" and "rack him" is a bit over the top,
but his interviews are professional and respectful.

KF thinks he's "better" than that?
Wow.

yeah he's a true pro -

Flat out - Rome is a shock jock who uses his platform for frat boy humor and doesn't know what the word unbiased or informative means. The fact that KF thinks he's better than that is a good thing

I have a bad feeling you are actually serious. If not, we'll played.

The funny thing is this isn't making people think Iowa sucks, it just brings attention to Iowa period. People who listen to sports talk radio, understands how 90%+ of the P5 teams schedule, and know Iowa is no different. 9 or 10 P5 opponents, and 2 or 3 cupcakes. That is how it works. At least Iowa only plays 3 cupcakes cause ISU sucks so bad.

You are right, it's not this stuff that makes people think that Iowa sucks, it's getting raped and pillaged by the like of Tennessee, Stanford, and Florida in your last three bowl games that make people think we suck. Nothing like a New Year's Bowl game molestation to make a lasting impression. Those teams should have had to register as sex offenders...well, I know a lot of Florida players already are, but they didn't have to enjoy it that much.

Exactly right! I would love to tell ISU you get back on our schedule when you have a winning season. Not our fault they blow that bad every single year.

Cowturd is a dumbass

A dumbass with a net worth of $15 million who gets to talk about and watch sports all day. If that's what being a dumbass gets you then sign me up!

In all seriousness though, objectively speaking he's got decent takes on some topics and is "dumb" on others, but "dumbness" is rewarded in today's society by views and lucrative TV contracts.

Just ask Chris Hassel, a more genuinely talented, funny, knowledgeable, and intelligent individual than Cowherd. The reality is that being a troll and having a big mouth gets you places in today's media. The examples are endless.

Yup yup. There's been some pushback amongst some in the journalism world of this. However the ratings/money dictate the flow of it. So at the end of the day it's the consumers who are 'fault' for that if you want to call it that.
