Cornhuskers trying to recapture the Tom Osborne magic

Reported on KETV...Washington surrendered to California authorities, will return to Nebraska after posting bond. Quote from Frost..."We are keeping everything in California at arm's length."

I bet you are, scumbag.

All arranged. Flew out to California Sunday, Monday morning, surrender, booked and bailed. Never even seen a jail cell. Back in Nebraska Monday evening.

Breaking....Maurice Washington sited in Lincoln for possession of drug paraphernalia. Right on track to be the next great Husker rb after he gets his sex crime swept under the rug and Scotty decides it's in his best interest to remain part of the team.

How certain are we that Iowa could not turn PSU/MSU/Neb-level defensive in a moment?

I would like to think the fan-base as a whole would be above that, and I seem to remember a lot of outrage from fans about Pierre Pierce being defended by Alford. However, that was pre-social media prominence, and it involved a Coach whom many already disliked.

As I said, I would like to think the sum of the Iowa fans would be above such behavior, but I wonder if a small, vocal minority would emerge and make everyone else look bad in a similar situation?

I point you to 2007/early-2008, when "Don't let the door hit ya..." was prolly the most popular phrase on these boards.

You're right, we should be more understanding. I'm sure he needed it to ease the anxiety from his upcoming court date for child/revenge porn.

Oh no, not marijuana.......Who cares. It's decriminalized in 14 states and legal in another 10. It will be nationally legal before we are all dead.

Regardless of what it was it's still illegal in that state at this point in time and he's knowingly breaking the law. Despite the severity of it what he's doing after his get out of jail pass earlier, if I'm him and really care about a second chance, I'm an absolute choir boy until I'm out of eligibility. This week paraphernalia, wonder what he'll be up to, because its pretty obvious he doesn't seem to care.

I'm not defending him and I don't disagree.
But first off, just because it's a law does not make it right. Man created these laws and man is very much fallible.
Did you know that there is laws in the books that if you are a truck driver and you don't make your bed in your sleeper you can get a ticket in some states? Did you know that because they used Angora goat hair in parachutes in ww2, if you raise them and shear them you can get a nice little credit on your taxes. (Both of those used to be, unsure if still on the books).
Did you know that in Iowa, the Iowa board of pharmacy held 4 open meetingd across the state and decided mj has medical value?
Did you know that when they reported that to Iowa law makers, they said then make the laws. Did you know that the board of pharmacy said we are doctors not lawmakers?
That was over 5 years ago. When there were still people alive and around who were in before they outlawed it and got their mj from the government themselves??
The law is not always right and rarely even makes sense. I suppose that is what keeps lawyers in business, because it's open to interpretation.

Now, I have also seen first hand when a state goes full on legal, young couples with a baby and a backpack show up in that state.
I had friends who went to do chores and found people sleeping in their sheds.
I watched the homeless rate skyrocket.

I think there has to be a middle ground.
I think there are people who can smoke mj and be fine. It doesn't affect work, family or anything. It's a medication and just like asprin for a headache, you don't use it every day because you don't have a headache every day.
The same with alcohol.

In the end, pot was put here for a reason.
Jesus turned water into wine for a reason.
The universe only exists because of balance.
Without the moon, earth wouldn't be what it is. Without small parts the food chain would collapse.
So alcohol, pot, asprin, pain killers, pizza, fried foods, life and everything that exists is about balance.

Don't you DARE lump pizza in with all that. Pizza could be the only food in the world, and the whole frigging universe would be WAY "balanced".

They crazy over here across the river. Don't get wrong, I like Martinez too, a lot actually. But besides completion percentage and maybe QBR - how is he THIS head and shoulders more proven?

I'm not going to argue whether marijuana should be legal; and completely agree with you that there are a lot of ridiculous laws out there. All I'm saying is the guy knew that he was already in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons and made a decision that landed him in more hot water.

I think Washington's made it perfectly clear that whatever god given talent he has, he's totally fine with wasting it because he simply doesn't care. Just wonder how many more opportunities Nebby is going to waste on him, but I guess to their credit it wasn't being accused of another sex crime so might as well keep him around.

I'm not lumping him into having balance either, because obviously he doesn't. But that was pretty obvious with his original or first charges.

They have a sort of interesting conversation ,(I can only read it) on huskermax.
Someone brought up religion and is it right to cast him aside and not help him.
I'm interested in this conversation.
I will say that I was raised that you can love it out of them. I guess some that have had a war torn vet close to them has probably seen this.
Again I'm not defending.
I'm saying almost everyone has smoked pot.
Like I said some probably in balance, some not.
But sending a victim a video of a crime committed against them is way over the line.
I don't care what man's law says, how it's twisted or if he actually gets convicted.
Fact is there is no doubt he sent it.
It came from his phone to hers in a conversation he was having with her.

Plain and simple that's over the line.
That's the difference between a little pot and 50 kg's of crack.

Listen I'm full blown man. Naked women are beautiful. But they are beautiful like the guys who painted pictures of them or made statues. To be respected.
Because if you think your mom and daughters are the only ones who deserve that, I've got news.
I think those defending his actions need to think about that.
Because if you all sent me a video of a drunk person, well haven't we all. If you sent me a video of someone smoking pot, well even the president has.
But when you start sending videos like that with the intent and knowing it's going to cause another emotional distress.

Well let's just say even if he pads up again for Nebraska, I hope every player in the big, remembers his number.
