Now you're just being stubborn. You asked me which games I watched. I answered your question. Based on those 5 games I expected us to beat Gonzaga and based on the stats from those 5 games any reasonable person can see Iowa has a realistic chance if Gonzaga plays like they did in those 5 games.

And how a team is trending often makes a huge difference. Look at Iowa at the end of last year. Look at Michigan State at the end of this year. So thinking the Zags would play like they had in the prior 4 games is hardly out of the question. And most would agree that Iowa is better than all of the teams I referenced other than Arizona.

Keep in mind this all goes back to your post saying Gonzaga would beat Iowa 10 out of 10 games. That's ridiculous. For you to say they will shoot out of their minds all 10 games makes zero sense. I gave a 5 game sample where they didn't shoot out of their minds. And if they're missing outside shots we can pack the zone in and control the big guys inside...because we're not concerned with their outside shooting in those games where they can't make outside shots. So I have absolutely no doubt that Gonzaga would not beat Iowa 10 out of 10 times.

I still don't believe Iowa would win one.. Fact is Zags don't need to shoot lights out to beat us, Iowa doesn't match up well at all with them.. It's not ridiculous or a stretch to think the above after watching Sunday Night. Odds are low in my mind that Iowa would pull that upset..

Are their bigs just that much better than ours that a team like them can actually steal a game from them and Iowa has absolutely zero chance? That's really unfortunate because I thought Iowa was a little further along as a program...

HP40...Here's another approach. Since you want to use the Zags' best game as a barometer I will use 1 of Iowa's best games...against Maryland.

We shot .643 from the field, .455 from 3 and .750 from the line. Apply these numbers to our shot attempts against Gonzaga and we score 94. That's a 7 point Iowa win.

The BYU game is evidence that fine teams can actually upset Gonzaga. I certainly wouldn't be laying any money on Iowa losing 10 out of 10 against them.

I think your reaching. Fact is Gonzaga Bigs (Wiltjer/Karnowski) would obliterate Iowa in each and every game. Iowa has absolutely no answer for them because Gabe can't play all 40 minutes.. Woody doesn't stand a chance against either and Fran would keep starting him and giving him his 20 to 24 mins against them.. Gonzaga shot well no doubt and much of that was because Iowa didn't have an answer at all to what Mark Few and Gonzaga did..



The data NCAA provided from the 36 Games to date they played doesn't lie, either.. Nor does the data above that you provided.. Gonzaga can flat out shoot the rock! That is a Fact..

The two times Karnowski traveled trying to post up was because Woodbury was putting a body on him.

He backed down Gabe like he was not even there multiple times.

Gabe is not even close to better post defender than Woodbury.

This absurd take of yours reminds me of when Iowa got blown out by Michigan last year, Stauskas killed us and a bunch of dumb *** iowa fans were just sure iowa couldn't compete with them , bad match up blah blah.

Then they came to IC and got blown out.

Basing an opinion on such a small sample is ridiculouse.

If Gonzaga shoots their normal percentage on Sunday it's a close game . Period. That's reality.

If that game took place two days earlier when Iowa was on fire and they were struggling to gaurd Iowa would have likely won.

They were not at all a bad matchup for Iowa, but if they shoot that well from 3 against Kentucky they would probably win.

It's just the way I look at it. I don't think this team can beat Gonzaga. People can say I'm clueless or think it's absurd, but the one thing that is fact is will never know.
