2003: +4..21 lost turnovers...10 wins
2004: +15, #6 in nation...19 lost turnovers...10 wins
2008: +8, 22nd in nation...24 lost turnovers...9 wins..ground and pound old man FB
2009: +2...28 lost turnovers...11 wins
2010: +13...11 turnovers lost..8 wins
None of these teams did all that much that was different from the other Ferentz teams. To try to draw this inference as it relates to Iowa, or any team, I just don't see it because so much of turnover margin rests on the number of takeaways the defense has.
One of the few concrete common denominators for Iowa's success has been their rushing d and or scoring d totals...when they haven't ranked in the top ten nationally in one or both of those categories, they've won fewer than eight games.
