1) White will get most of him minutes at the four (great)
2) We may see more of the twin towers (could be fun)
3) Uhl will see more playing time this year (good for future years)
4) We will see more three guard lineups (lose length but gain quickness, mixed bag)
5) We may start an all white lineup (personally I'm hoping Jok wins the starting job at the 2)
6) We may sign another player this spring (could negate much of what I said above)
1) True. ALL of White's minutes will be at the 4. I see him averaging over 7rbs a game. This could be a good thing but, judging from his statements, Atwood wanted to be at the 3, so really nothing's different with his decision.
2) Yes, we could see some of Woody and GO on the floor together regularly. This could be a good thing. But that is contingent on both of them continuing their development in the off-season. Otherwise, we could go small. A consequence of Atwood's decision is that we are smaller as a team. If both are healthy and ready for it, GO and Woody could play 5-10 min/game together.
3) Yes, Uhl will see more PT. He could make a splash if he's consistent. But he's skinny. A physical team could make a meal of him in 2014.
4) Yes we will see some in-game line-ups with JO or Jok at the 3. That is good only if we hit our open 3s.
5) Yes, Fran will probably try JO at the 2, but I just don't see that by the B1G season. He signed TD for a reason: we need more speed in the rotation, especially with Atwood's decision. Also, with RDM's departure, we need a creative scorer at the other guard spot with Gesell. Jok or TD will start with Gesell by the B1G season. Otherwise, we could be in trouble.
6) Don't see us signing another guy that will make an impact in 2014 and affect the above. Maybe we'll sign Nzei. Uhl will make more of an impact than Nzei would in 2014.
Atwood's decision could make us more attractive to Cole Huff. But he wants to play the 3 as well. That might work with Uthoff, as he is a combo forward. But we could use 2 PF/C types in 2015. And signing Huff at SF might make it too crowded for Joseph Toye. Right now, I see our most realistic, yet good class as something like: Christian Romine, Evan Boudreaux, Huff or Toye, and a quality guard: maybe Christian Williams or Glynn Watson (Marquette lean though). Brandon Hutton fills out the class. This, assuming we sign no one else for 2014, which I think will be the case.
