Congratulations! Iowa joined the Big 12 in 2014

At the start of the 2014 football season, Iowa joined the Big 12 and took Iowa States Schedule. The season has been going poorly due to a tougher schedule that Iowa just simply isn’t used to. Here is how it has gone so far.

VS North Dakota St Lose 34-31
VS #20 Kansas State Lose 32-17
VS @ Iowa Lose 20-17
VS #7 Baylor Lose 49-24
VS @ Oklahoma State Lose 37-24
VS Toledo Win 45-30
VS @ Texas Lose 48-31
VS #18 Oklahoma Lose 59-14
VS @ Kansas Lose 34-14

Right now, Iowa is 1-8. Surprisingly, Iowa lost to itself. It was mostly due to low moral from losing the other games of the season. Brandon Scherff gets injured with a season ending injury. He is also not drafted in the NFL draft. At this point, 40% of Hawkeye fans are in an outrage due to poor coaching and a losing season. The other 60% are claiming that if you were a true Iowa fan, you should be used to the ups and downs also stating this is Iowa football. These people are mostly old timers who are set in their ways. They are old dogs who fear change.

People want a change and they get it at the end of the season. Iowa Fires Kirk Ferentz, and gets a new coach for less money. Iowa has one more average season, and then rebuilds a great program after that due to a willingness to change.

But wait… that is just a dream. We are the Iowa Hawkeyes. We don’t change. We don’t like change. We change the play at the line of scrimmage and simply run the ball up the middle to the other side. The other teams knows it’s coming because they watch film and they stop it. We don’t put in our backup QB who is better, and we don’t fire Kirk Ferentz no matter how close his career record gets to 50% WE ARE IOWA! We strive to be mediocre!

However, we are loyal! We will still watch every game no matter what. We will still buy tickets and fan gear because we are a great fan base.
I love Iowa Football but it’s time for the program to change! Fire Kirk Ferentz& Fire Kirk Ferentz now!
 
Okay, just because Jon issued an advisory post on Decorum with respect to new posters, did he really have this guy in mind?
 
I am a loyal Iowa fan. My dad went to Iowa and I grew up an Iowa fan. I live in Ames which is why my Iowa license plate and handle says HumorMe. I root for Iowa 100% and I root for ISU as well unless they are playing Iowa. I believe in YOUR Team, YOUR State, YOUR Country, which is why I also do not hate ISU. Even though I route for them, I typically do not watch their games.

With that said... everything posted above has merit.
 
Are you posting the same type of message to ISU fans and their coach?

Fire everybody!!! That is the answer? Spend 14 million to get rid of a coach? Next.
 
No, Iowa State doesn't need a new head coach yet. Their head coach does not deserve to be on the chopping block yet and gets another year at least.

I created my profile earlier this week. My settings show that anyone should be able to see my profile so I am not sure what that is about. Why have you guys made this about me, and not about what I am saying. I'm not a troll, and honestly, I don't post on message boards and this is probably why.
 
Rhoads gets more time, but not KF? KF has earned much more loyalty than Rhoads with his record. Three time Big Ten COY, two league titles, the good times that have allowed financing of over 150 million in improvements in our football facilities.....sorry, but you do not fire him after a season where we probably win 8-9 games and make a good bowl.

KF is batting almost 50% in division play and has about that same record against ISU. So, we win 3 cake games at the beginning on the season, and do a coin flip during the rest of the season to see which games we win.

We lose to Iowa State.
We lose to the people we should lose to: Michigan State, Ohio...
We lose to programs we should not be losing to in the Big10.

I am sorry, but I think at this point, most Iowa fans should be in the mindset that a crappy bowl is not enough and it's time for more.

On the flip side, ISU fans are happy to get to a bowl game. Their expectations are a lot lower then Iowa fans at this point. Rhodes is doing what he can with very little and deserves more time. They don't have the money to do what Iowa can. To be quite honest with you, I would take Rhodes as the head coach of Iowa over KF any day of the week. At least that way we would have creative play calling and a chance to do better.

Fixed it for ya. Looking back, Iowa would win 5 games with ISU's schedule. I also reserve the right to revise this further if Iowa can beat Wisk then I say they can beat Okie St. If Iowa beats Nebraska, I say Iowa could have beaten WVU and K-State.

So Iowa is a 5-8 win team with ISU's schedule. ISU is epic bad this year and much like Indiana isn't better than Missouri, and jNW isn't better than Wisconsin, those two lost to them, much like Iowa lost to ISU.......doesn't mean ISU is a good team.

Oh, and you have all the markings of an alt troll, as there is no other reason to post the whole flawed Iowa playing ISU's schedule crap.

Okie State isn't that good. Iowa would be a 2.5 point favorite against them on a neutral field per Sagarin. Wisconsin would be a 15 point favorite.

I don't know if I should be honored or not that you think I am one of these people. I am me. I have never had an account on HN before and I was simply trying to state a point.

If Iowa was in the Big 12, we would have an even worse overall conference record with KF then the poor conference record with him we currently have.

I don't see your point. I root for Iowa in basketball too when they play ISU. However, I fully respect the Governor and think he is a great coach. Again, your team: Iowa, your state: Iowa State, your country: USA. That is my rooting order.
