There's also a U19 team which is much more talented than the University team.

Yup. Marcus Smart could have played for the WUG team but played on the U19 team instead. That team was loaded.

I don't know about being more talented, but you do have a point.
They are absolutely more talented. Smart, Rasheed Sulaimon from Duke, Aaron Gordon freshman to be at Arizona projected top five pick next year, Montrezl Harrell L'ville freshman to be, projected top ten pick next year, Jarnell Stokes another projected first round pick next year, plus Jahlil Okafor a top recruit in the '14 class.
How is that different than any other team in this event?

Cant speak to all the teams, but Canada put their team together awhile ago. Had several practices. Went on a trip to China and played several games together. THEN they went to Russia and played in the WUGs. Slightly different than the bullshi$ method in which the USA team was pulled together. Ask a few of the USA players how that's going. The play on the court is very obvious.

Ferrell has been pretty bad in this tournament. While chucking up shot after shot (second most on the team) he is only hitting around 35% overall and, gulp, 27% from the three point line.

That's obviously a factor in this. But there will be better players on the court next season than there are playing for USA right now, too. Yogi isn't going to be the nation's best point guard, I know that much. He's good, but he won't be the best out there.
The incoming one and done caliber players are playing on the U19 team, while the university roster is mainly filled with the guys who AREN'T one-and-done caliber.
Aaron White is a good, solid player. He is not more talented than one and dones. If you're seriously going to argue otherwise, then you haven't watched a lick of college basketball over the last 7 years.
