ISU's biggest problem, and this isn't unique to them, is that they're match up dependent. If they draw a team with a good front court and a decent PG, they're f'd. I could actually see a team like Purdue putting the hurt on them.
 
But Iowa beat ISU, Michigan and Wisconsin so we defeated both the BTwT champ and the BTeT champ plus the B1G regular season champ but don't get a sniff of the NCAAs. A pathetic loss to Omaha and horrendous officiating at Minnesota and there you go.

That opening round everything slows down,where every possession matters......get into one of those type of games with a team with a big frontcourt......ISU could easily be one and done.
 
Big Hawk fan but will be cheering for clones and panthers if they are in. Some day when we decide to play defense maybe we will get in.
 
Some of you should open your hearts and minds to our little brother. Let's face the fact. ISU's basketball brand is way better than ours. We were superior to them from the 40's to the 90's. Then ISU had their version of the Lute Olsen & George Raveling years with Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy. Since that time they have had coaches that didn't quite work out, but certainly weren't failures. Meanwhile we slid into cellar status and Licklitter buried us up to our necks. Fran has been digging us out his whole career at Iowa. I do believe we finally have enough talent to start to establish a winning culture again. Fran is on the precipice. He is at a proverbial impasse. He either establishes a winning culture and the players develop a confidence and aggressive mentality or we back slide again and start over with a new coach. I don't know or want to even imagine how far Barta would let us slide before he pulled the trigger. However I have seen the flashes of a destiny that is sure to come true. Glimpses of a talented aggressive and confidant group of players that compete at a high level night in and night out. I only hope it happens in this dimension instead of some doppelganger parallel universe where I can only assume Iowa is dominate at Football and Basketball but sucks at wrestling and baseball lol.
 
I don't like the punks on ISU but they are very well coached and playing well at the right time

It will depend on how they shoot. If they get cold from 3 they won't win their first game. If their shooting is on then they can beat anyone. I won't be rooting for them, but also won't be rooting against them.

I will say that they are going to take a BIG step back next season. They lose all 5 starters and their seniors make up basically all of their production. Babb is okay, Young looks decent, and they have a good recruiting class, but that doesn't add up to a lot of wins. I like our situation way more for the next three seasons.

Idk, I really don't get the hate. We play them in a meaningless game once a year. I hate Wisky, MSU and Minnesota a lot more than I hate ISU. I mean, F Minny, seriously.

Did I say Hate? Just because they are from Iowa doesn't mean I have to support them. How do you think Duke and UNC fans act? I bet it's all hugs and kisses. :)

They're in the same conference and meet 3 times a year, most years. Way different.

You're right, McDermott was a huge success in Ames and the clown fans speak of him highly.

Not sure I understand your question. I will say, though, that if you watched the game, you saw her about 50 times and every time she was acting like a 12-year old.

As for making fun of our players' mothers, if they're acting like attention-seeking idiots, I'll probably beat you to the punch.

Don't let Bryce fool you, Clown fans make fun of everyone and everything. Hell they go on and on and on about the looks of the Iowa players ripping them from head to two, like those inbreed farmers are something to look at.....

I love Nevada in this game. They're just as athletic as ISU is and will be ready to beat a high-major.
