Conference Title not out of the Question

MSU is beatable, and we have them at home
OSU didn't defend the run that well last night, and our D can shut down Pryor's passing...
therefore Iowa will beat OSU...right?

NW has played a fluff schedule so far, so they're overrated

UW is not a world beater, they're definitely in play

Purdue, LOL

Michigan is overrated, almost lost to CONNECTICUT, who's terrible

Nebraska is a joke this year, getting smashed by UCLA and barely beating WYOMING Iowa is JUST LIKE UCLA.

This is jumping the gun a bit. It was just a win over Minnesota. Beating Michigan State opens possibilities. Not Minnesota.

Win 5 of those games and I believe we're in the championship game, but winning them all is definitely possible.

Slow down. The make or break portion of the schedule is coming up over the next 4 games. If Iowa can split them or go 3-1, then we can talk about it.

Randel El is going to be tough to deal with as well when Iowa goes head to head with Indiana. He has been a Hawkeye killer over the years.

PSU's combo of Kerry Collins and Ki-Jana Carter also could do damage against Iowa's defense. Hopefully Station, Hanks, and Sanders come to play.

A little early for these type of discussions. I was impressed with yesterdays win as well but come on, this team still has a long ways to go. A good quarterback will hit those wide open receivers that were left open yesterday, and decent receivers would have caught those drops. If I am on the outside looking in at Iowa's schedule nothing they have done has me overly impressed either. They still lost to a MAC team at home and scrapped by to beat a lousy FCS team. Let this team learn how to walk before they run. Revisit this after next Saturday.

Correction: it took a late turnover to lose to a good MAC team (who just dismantled a B1G team), and they completely dominated an FCS team; the scoreboard is no indication of that game.

To the OP, we are currently 1-0 in the conference. A conference title is not out of the question. The legends is fairly wide open, at this point.

MSU is beatable, if we can find a way to slow down Lorenzo White
Michigan St. played Western Michigan and only beat them by 13. Iowa beat them by 56. Advantage Iowa.
Michigan St. is averaging 1.7 points per game better on defense, but Iowa is 4 points better per game on offense. Advantage Iowa.
Michigan St's QB is both inaccurate and cannot run. Our QB is none of those things. Advantage Iowa.

Iowa beats MSU by 13+. Fact.

Exactly. I don't know why everyone is gearing up for Michigan State like they're Alabama. We learned more from last weekend than we will after we beat MSU. Fact.

And to respond to another post, I'm not bipolar. I've never called for Kirk Ferentz to be fired. I think we're far from a perfect team, but I generally try to be optimistic about the state of things and our future. Fact is, the Big Ten is very winnable and equitable this year...Purdue/Indiana/Illinois are terrible as usual, Nebraska/Michigan/Wisconsin/Michigan State/PSU are decent but have shown their vulnerabilities, Minnesota/Iowa/Northwestern have all played fairly well so far, but are definitely beatable and largely untested. About the only dominant team this year is OSU, and they're far from perfect. They're really the only huge obstacle in anyone's way.

didn't say you were bud, but this fanbase is. the thread titles after wins and losses are almost comical in their extremes. and this is coming from a guy who asked to be banned.

I'll agree to that. I've been reading this board for a couple years, but couldn't bring myself to become a poster because people totally flip out early in the season after we lose to Moo U. Now that we've gotten that monkey off my back, I decided to join since it's seemed a little less kooky around here lately.

people on here really are crazy. Jon got rid of a few of the crazies, but there are still some of us hanging around.

Michigan St. played Western Michigan with Corey Davis, who had 8 Receptions, for 96 yards and 1 touch down and only beat them by 13. Iowa beat them by 56 after Corey Davis had 2 receptions for 11 yards, but left in the first quarter with an upper body injury. Advantage Iowa.

FTFY.

With all due respect, I'm getting tired of people getting carried away with that WM vs MSU compared to WM vs IA score, and overlooking the Corey Davis injury. Not that his presence would have made that much difference anyway for real, but, just sayn.
