Come on Jon.....

I sure expect a prediction for against Purdont. I am interested in what the Nebraska prediction is too, it could have theoretical division championship implications.

Look, I want a new coach too and the list of why is long, but to cheer against him and to want Iowa to fail at that expense is just the dumbest thing ever said on here.

GO HAWKS or GTFO.

I get it. It's just not in my DNA to sit at an Iowa game or in front of the TV, during an Iowa game and root against them. For any reason. If I'm unhappy with a certain player or coach, I just don't think about them during a game, if at all possible.

Exactly, you have to be pretty freaking petty if your dislike for one individual then makes you root against the entire team of hard working student athletes and the legions of others who work hard to put the product on the field. I wish KF was gone, but he isn't. I really didn't think that any person could be stupid enough to cut off their nose to spite their face, but I guess I was wrong.......

We could easily split the OOC games. Illinois State is no push over. At ISU is almost certainly a loss. Pitt at home is tough, especially since both Narduzzi and Rudolph are familiar with KF football.
Dan McCarney is coming to town with North Texas? Ugh! He'll have them playing like they are in the Super Bowl.
My head is telling me 1-3 but I think we'll split 2-2.

Iowa is a much better team than the clowns. Iowa is also not afraid to play at Lames. Iowa has dominated 2 of the last 3 games played there. I predict another win at Lames to make it 3 out of 4.

They are always a much better team....But they still lose to them.

Don't like KF and want him gone? Fine. Disagree with Jon on his predictions? OK. But, hoping the Iowa football team, and the very fine young men who are on that team, lose. Not acceptable. Go follow some other team.

I would hardly consider winning 22 of the last 32 against the Clowns as always losing. This includes 2 of the last 3 at Lames.

Jesus, that's rich. Why would any of the games that Hayden coached count? 7-9...that's the relevant record that I'm sure the post you are referencing is talking about.

So Kirk "lost your support" during an 11-2 season playing in a game where our QB was a backup in his first start? I'm not even sure how to respond to that.....

kfootball's absolute lack of a "let's go take this effing game from these bastards on their effing turf" approach to the '09 O$U game was the proof many folks needed that he plays to "not lose" instead of "to win" the game. Huge difference. Very real and very huge difference.

So, I haven't checked your numbers to see if they're accurate, but assuming they are, then:
* Hayden Fry was 15-1 against ISUx, and
* kfootball is 7-9 against ISU the great.

If you had to chose between those two records, which would you chose and which one would make you feel like we were "always" losing to the Clowns?

------"I get what he is saying in so much that while KF is the coach at Iowa, hoping for his failure is the same as hoping for the team to fail. "

You are close my friend. Actually, any rooting I may do against KF is so the program can get back on the right track and have success....SOONER than later. And I will only root against him once the season looks totally lost. The whole program from top to bottom has rotted under KF and is beyond repair....sorry, my opinion. Wish I could root against KF, but still for the players....but unfortunately, it does not work that way. BTW, earlier posters were correct about my reasons for jumping ship after the OSU game.....it was 100% about the gutless to decision to sit on the ball in a game where Iowa had a HUGE chance to make a statement....but as common place, KF played not to lose and crapped the bed on the biggest of stages. And one other poster was correct as well mentioning the Wisconsin game the following year...that coaching disaster only solidified my opinion about him. While Hayden was a river boat gambler, KF reminds me of scared little Waldo on Van Halen's Hot For Teacher video....he is "Nervous and his socks are too loose"....enjoy.

Not to nitpick, but Hayden was 16-4 against ISU. But your point stands of course. There is no better example of the diff between Kirk "play not to lose" Ferentz and Hayden.

Yeah, I was just using his numbers. But ISU is a good barometer. Heck, kfootball is only .500 all-time against jNW.

7-3 is too low after 10 games. This team has the ability to win every single one of these games. I believe they will do just that. The reason being is that defense is so strong this year, and that will win these games for Iowa.

Every game - assumes Iowa is what we want Iowa to be. 5 to 7 win given what Iowa has become.

Does anyone think Playmaker (grandiose name, but is it fitting?) would give Ferentz his grievances if they, say, met in an airport?

Or would Playmaker (really, you're a playmaker?) say "Good luck this season, Coach, I'm pulling for you!"
