....and what is wrong with YouTube TV? I'd go with that and be done with it. It's easy peasy slick.

Any reason you went away from Hulu? I've had it a year now and love it.

I have been leaning Hulu for football season, but it doesn't include ABC in my area and the broadcaster is out of Asheville, meaning I can't pull it OTA due to the mountains. I'm considering youtube, but it has TYT and I prefer not to subscribe to a service from which those people will get my money. Will the ABC games stream on the ESPN app?

They did for me last year. Even without you getting the ABC channels it should still be part and parcel of your Hulu sub. For all intents and purposes ABC and ESPN are the same thing anymore.
One of the things that I like about having Hulu is that when you subscribe to it, you can go into the ESPN app on your Roku/Fire/SmarTV/whatever, and watch literally any ABC or ESPN game. It's almost overload of games and a lot of times I found myself tuning into the Upper Dickwad State Clowns vs the Kalamazoo County Kangaroos because I couldn't believe that ESPN9 even carried Division 5 football.
I didn’t mind Hulu, I just already have Comcast which my wife likes for whatever reason, because she likes shows on some channels that I don’t know. So I’m already paying for Comcast, I’d rather not tack on the $30ish for Hulu.
I like watching the games on live cable, simply because I can flip back and forth quickly between many games during iowa commercial breaks or halftime. I’ll always be a obsessive, bleeds black and gold Iowa fan. However I love the whole college game nationally and love watching the SEC, Oklahoma, Texas, Clemson and whoever else. So the ability to flip rapidly around on regular cable is nice.

Not trying to steer you away from cable, but maybe check which channels the shows your wife likes are on. I'd have a hard time thinking you wouldn't find them on Hulu and eliminate Comcast (and their highway robbery) altogether. I can flip just as rapidly around as I could with Cable or dish, basically it's no different than regular TV only it's through internet.
The best thing as far as I'm concerned is that with your subscription you get to watch any and all football games carried by ESPN, not just the ones in your bropadcast area. The Hulu guide will just keep automatically adding ESPN "stations" as games begin. Same thing with Fox and Big Ten.

I'm told Hulu has a deal with ACC Network as well and the ACC is loading a fair amount of what they deem to be marquis games onto ACC Network. Comcast and Charter don't have a deal yet and Charter claims they aren't going to blink in the negotiations. Down here, Charter cut CBS and mailed customers antennas because they are sick of the content providers jacking up rates on them and then suffering the wrath of customers when they complain about cable bills. When you look at the streaming options, it is clear the cable companies are staring down an existential crisis, which is why Comcast bought NBC-Universal and tried to buy those Fox assets when Disney opened bidding. Content is king.

And for units of sports content per dollar, Hulu is definitely King. Nothing else out there comes close.

Disney has slowly been pulling content and is supposedly launching their own app soon. I think they are cutting sweetheart deals for streaming of ESPN, which is a big reason streaming bundles are so much cheaper than cable. I have a suspicion they are going to start pulling or renegotiating those deals if they get their app up and running and work out the technical kinks in it.
You Tube TV has worked really well for us and their pc and mobile apps work very well. I havent used the dvr feature yet. Lot's of sports channels

Not cheaper than Hulu.
Hulu is $45 a month total (no fees/taxes/surcharges) including all the sports content and all the other channels plus locals.
Here’s what you get with Hulu.
No Comcast provider I’ve ever heard of is anywhere near that.
True as a whole Hulu is probably cheaper. However Comcast is included in our neighborhood association fees and it comes bundled with our internet, so in the end, we’d be looking at $10 or so difference, when you factor in paying for Hulu+. The problem is my wife doesn’t want to give up cable and I’m tired of arguing about it like everything else.

I can channel surf with YouTubeTV just as fast as with cable. Not sure that point is valid.

I've had PSVue (started with that), YouTubeTV and Hulu (at same time to cover all channels). Of the 3, I and wifey like YouTubeTV and dropped Hulu after YouTube got all the channels we like.

No way Comcast is going to be cheaper than Hulu or the other streaming services. If they are, it's only for a few months and there is a contract.
