College game day

I literally can't wait for Nebraska to get piss pounded. I am in a pool at work (I work in NE, live in IA) and we have a huge board at work where everyone puts up their score every week and the closest to it wins the pool. I put my score up early this week in red ink - the prediction is 71-14 TOSU....it's got a lot of raised eyebrows.

This only feeds into the Husker fans disillusion that they think they are still relevant. NOBODY outside of Nebraska cares about their football program. WTF is Gameday thinking???
Except certain BTN talking heads, starting with DiNardo. They are almost trying to will Big Red to be relevant again.

You need Nebraska to be a national power and Wisconsin and/or Iowa to be top 15/top 25 to make the West look decent and not a total joke. Right now it is a joke.

I don't think a 3 score win by OSU will look bad. It's that they have to completely control the game.
I have a feeling health is going to play a bigger roll then normal as the season goes on for many teams.
But yeah this game could be over by halftime.
I'm not touching this one except OSU for the win.

I don't blame the BTN, after all it is why they were brought into the Big Ten in the first place as it sure in the hell wasn't for their academics. But why ESPN is feeding it makes no sense to me.

Ask Michigan how much of a joke it is. But then Northwestern gave it right back by looking like a joke of their own.. But the west, if nothing else, has certainly done well in bowl games the past couple of years and much of it against the so called speed teams from the South and West coast.

The b10 never looked better than when we were viewed as tough across the board.
3 score win by OSU isn't anything, it's that they look very much in control with that final score.
Same with the Wisconsin, Northwestern game.
Just can't have blow outs of huge numbers against mid teams.
Not to long ago we said the b10 really only had a few teams that were way down.

On a different note, I think this year is going to be about health for several teams.
I'll take our win over ISU (even if it was ugly) as long as we are getting healthy before the meat of the schedule.

You hopefully are correct with your prediction. But tOSU has seriously stumbled twice in recent history in road games against B1G west opponents. Iowa in 2017, Purdue last year.

No word on whether the governor has declared another "Scott Frost Day". Maybe later today.

So you think some years health doesn't matter to any team?

I think that the two strongest teams in the west need to be careful.
I think making it to the b10 championship is one thing. Being able to win it is a different story. That could come down to health.
We are not the only team down to #3's in spots and really the season is just starting.

The B1G West has gotten good bowl draws because the B1G has missed the playoffs two years in a row.

You can still get OSU at -17.5. I took it.

People keep bringing up Iowa 2 years ago and Purdue last year....but IMO, those were good teams....I mean, not great teams, but a lil above average teams. This Nebraska team is NOT good. At all. IMO this game won't be within 30 pts.

Those were both teams with good college QBs who could throw from the pocket and legit NFL receiving threats running routes. If you try to beat OSU with a running QB who is worse than the guy they see in practice 5 days a week, you're gonna get absolutely shit trucked. Only way you can beat them without having a better team is to show them something on defense they haven't seen and execute, execute, execute.

Bingo, bango, bongo.

Like the late, great Ronnie Milsap, Scott Frost is having day dreams about night things.

One does not come into the Big Ten and try to jam a run-first QB down the throats of front-loaded defenses, especially when said quarterback is no passing threat and scrambles at the first sign on pocket trouble. Frost is trying to punch way above his recruiting class and he knows it now. He assumed incorrectly that he could rely on athleticism above everything else until he could improve recruiting classes, but that gamble failed.

I hate the huskies with an unhealthy passion and I've watched every post game presser since he took over. You can see that he's now fully come to the conclusion (no matter what he says in the pressers) that he's a six foot man in a 7' deep river with a cinder block chained to his leg. Nebraska has a recruiting problem that Scott Frost isn't good enough to out coach.

And even if someone does bring up Purdue and Iowa, I'm sorry but out of ten games against Ohio State, those two teams each win 2, maybe. Nebtards don't seem to understand that just because two guys in the next town over got a $25,000 scratch ticket, it doesn't mean your chances are better.

OSU is gonna hand Nebraska its own ass on a silver platter. Buckeyes are the real deal Holyfield.

I agree 100%

Nebraska is going to see how far they;'ve got to go to get back to the pinnacle, where they all think they should be.

I don't think people appreciate how good the coaching in the Big Ten is and how difficult it is to implement warm weather systems in Big Ten play. Fitz, Kirk and Chryst don't have the weapons because of where they are, but those dudes are all among the 20 best coaches in the game. Brohm doesn't look half bad, either, and Fleck is TBD. Long story short, Frost had no clue what he was walking into at Nebraska.
