Just dissed Iowa for their out of conference scheduling. Actually he said Iowa is smart for scheduling cupcakes like UNI, Ark. St., and Iowa St. He said we're smart because we schedule games we know we can win and don't get beat up physically and mentally. Also agreed with Todd Blackledge on how teams should usually schedule one OOC game that means something. HELLO...we played ARIZONA!! They have no idea what they are talking about

Weren't we scheduled to play Missouri as well, but they backed out??

The SIDept at the U. of Iowa needs to be doing some extra work sending out info to these national media types. It is getting a bit out of hand.

Glad I'm at work and I don't have access to streaming audio so I don't have the option of listening to turd burglers like Cowherd and Rome.

And then Iowa had a chance to play Wash St and Oregon St and choose ASk St.

HAWK fans, we must show forgiveness to these idiots, for they know not of what they speak. To all, keep your heads up and shut your ears to this, in the end we'll be 12 - 0 and let the chips fall where they may. GO HAWKS!!!

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. That's just what Cowherd does. He'll talk up traditional powers like USC or Notre Dame, and how incredibly smart their coaches are until they drop a game or two. Then he'll talk about how there were signs all along that they weren't their usual dominant selves this season.

In Charlie Weis's first season, he couldn't talk enough about what a genius he was, and how he was just smarter and better than everyone else in college football.

Cowherd just loves to rile people up, and freely admits that he talks up the teams he does because he's playing to big market demographics. I haven't listened to him for a few years, because while I get what he's doing, I don't particularly care to listen to it anymore.

I think Colin is the most talented sports talk show host in the country. He comes up with funny and genius angles on topics all of the time that really make me appreciate his talent.

However, he is a talk show host, and he gives opinions for a living...like writers..and you are bound to irritate people. There are Iowa fans that don't like me because they have disagreed with me in the past. Goes with the territory.

Penn State fans lost their minds towards me all spring and summer when I said they would be one of the more overrated teams in football this year. Then they lost to Iowa, and I have not heard from them again. When you give opinions for your living, chances are you are going to tick someone off.

Notre Dame fans cannot stand me, because I rip them any chance I get...

If Colin bugs you too much, just turn the channel...Iowa is being set up by these guys for the big 'I TOLD YOU SO' if Iowa doesn't go 12-0. Which will be just as unrealistic

I hate Talk/News radio. It's just entertainment. Especially the political shows. They don't earn their paycheck by being unbiased, they get it by getting good ratings.

If you don't like what you are hearing, another option other than just disagreeing to be disagreeable is to formulate an argument to counteract what is being said. If you can argue against a take someone has, you can articulately express your side of the issue. If all you can do is disagree based upon emotion rather than fact, perhaps you are wrong and need to hear what is being said. Maybe it is an opportunity to grow as an individual. When you are secure in your opinion, it can actually be kind of fun listening to someone you don't agree with-it exercises your brain. This goes for sports, politics and religion.

Every time Colin talks about Iowa he gets 5000 e-mails. He will continue to talk about Iowa as long as that continues and will take the angle that draws the greater volume.

He's doing what he set out to do. Many guys on these talk shows, both on radio and TV, say things to rile people up. Week in and week out his name is posted on these boards and it draws interest in him. This in turn means more poeple listen to him which gives him higher ratings. He'll keep saying the same thing over and over again as he knows poeple will listen to him. Stop listening!

The rest of this season in particular is going to play out this way. The Hawks keep winning and there will be more skeptics of this team. It will make some of you mad or more mad then you are.

The Hawks lose a game and they'll say we told you so. Either way, they are trying to get on the nerves of some fans. Obviously some Iowa fans get bent out of shape very easily.

As long as Iowa keeps winning on the field and the BSC has them in a good position, I don't care nor do I listen to what these washed up athletes, coaches and/or wannabes have to say about the Hawks.

Let the Hawks do their talking on the field and all will be well.

Iowa fans need to quit worrying so much about what the media is saying. If you are listening to that crap then you are going to come out of a game acting ****** off that Iowa didn't win 63-0. Iowa is playing close games against a brutal schedule, people on the outside looking in don't see the fact is that Spartan Stadium is a tough place to play or Iowa has been pretty beat up all year. Enjoy the ride instead of worrying about what Colon Blowhard has to say.
