Cole will be a Hawkeye Legend Forever

I'm not a huge Cole fan and never have been in terms of my thoughts on Jarryd as a player. However, as a person, the guy's been through a great deal and fought through a ton of adversity throughout his career. His heart was in it 100% and he truly loved being a Hawkeye and has the heart of a champion. That said, as a player he is average at best, and not what I'd call a "legend". I honestly think once Iowa turns the corner and gets back to their winning ways his play and presence on the court will have been forgotten.

I was not alive when Iowa basketball was in the place it has been. I remember Lute Olsen as our coach bringing us back. I can understand people not placing Cole in the legend status. Believe me, I understand why given his stats.

At the end of the day, and career of Cole, he will be remembered for what he has done as a 4 year senior. I can't think of another that has done what Cole has done to stick around.

This. Maybe not "legend" as much as "folk hero" for most fans, but for me personally, Jarryd Cole is a legend. My 2nd favorite Hawk ever.

I came to say this. No one is going to sit their grandson on their knee and tell them they had the chance to see the great Jarryd Cole play. I think an analogous example would be Warren Holloway.
