Coker sets school record for rushing yards in a single game

He had a run in the 2nd half where he completely trucked the defender and kept running. It looked just like Greene. Iowa football is so much fun to watch with a big back.

Coker, Johnson, Coe, McCall; we are fine next year at RB. If ARob is back, he will be a 3rd down back.
 
The only record for rushing yards that Coker set in last night's game was for the most in a bowl game. I believe this is Iowa's 26th bowl game. Bob Jeter set the old record in bowl #2, the '59 Rose Bowl, when he ran for 188 yards. So this record has been a long time coming. Congratulations Marcus! Here's hoping that you never have to flirt with Tavian's 300+ versus Tulsa. If we are playing for a spot in the Big-10 championship game each of your last three years, I hope you never have to carry the ball more than 25 times per game. I also hope the Hawkeyes average 11-wins per season in those years.

Again, it's been documented in this thread that he didn't even come close. For God's sake, I was only alive for two of those performances, and I was 7 years old or younger for both of them. I thought I remembered people saying that Greene broke the record. I think it's okay to let it go now that I missed it on that particular record, since about 10 other posters have pointed it out.

Regardless, Coker put on a dominating show, and did it as a true freshman.
 
All I know is that was one heck of a performance by Coker and most importantly the offensive line. Well done Hawks!
 
Coker ........a real solid O Line........Some great freshman coming to speed.......I'm juiced for next season. Great win!!!

Tavian was pulled with time left in that game. If he wanted to, he was creeping in on the NCAA record at the time.
