Cody Sokol..

He threw a 20 yard pass to a wide open RB who then ran it an additional 60 yards. He hasn't looked any better than JR would.
 
Whatever, did you see how on the spot that pass was. JR came awful damn close to missing a wide open Canzeri at the end of the Nebby game, and that was only about a 5 yard pass....

The RB didn't have a defender within 15 yards of him. I could have thrown that pass. Sokol has missed a few open receivers today. JR misses some open receivers as well. There isn't a glaring difference between the two......other than Cody is throwing to far superior RBs that can get open and catch the ball.
 
Did some of you people even see the Iowa/Illinois game this year? JR looked like an All-American. Illinois' defense is BAAAAAAAD.
 
at the time of the "80 yard TD Pass" he was 2 of 7. now 2 of 11. can you imagine this board if that was him throwing for iowa? hoks would be in meltdown phase.

Let's see. First year as a starter, plays in a conference title game and goes undefeated against the B1G. Welp, two things Jake will never lay claim to in his 3 years as a starter for the Hawks. Something tells me this board wouldn't be in melt-down mode with a bowl win. But that's just me.
 
Sokol just heaved a deep ball into the endzone that there is no question Jake could never do. Nice arm. He's not overly accurate, though. He seems like more of a watered down CJ Bethard.
 
Sokol clearly better than Jake. His season stats better than JRs plus a division title and he beat a team from a superior conference. And Kirk wouldn't even let him throw a single pass.:confused:

After watching that Bowl game it is clear that Sokol was the 3rd best. JR and CJ are both miles better than him. To bad KF refused to implement an offense suited for this century, cause if he did this Iowa team could have won 10 games.
