Cody Larson talks drug charge, recruitment, etc

CAARhawk, its pretty easy to say you could see it in their picture, after it happened. If you are such an expert, tell us, based on their picture, who on the football or basketball team is going to have a problem with drugs or alcohol that hasn't had one yet. I am sure that someone will. In your infinite wisdom, tell us who is going to have a problem. You may have other posters kissing up to you, but I'm calling out your BS.

I can't say who is going to have a problem with drugs and alcohol by a picture, exactly. But people who recover from drugs and alcoholism are often described as "having a light come on in their eyes." This lack of light is often a sign of a pyschological condition, which people can end up self-medicating to overcome. Believe me, I see it in 100% of the cases of true alcohol or drug dependents. I also don't see that in the kids that just party with their friends and get in trouble, but don't have the predisposition for dependence.

I absolutely did make a very strong comment on the pictures on this board, when it was on Scout, about my concern regarding Tucker's countenance immediately after the first team pictures were posted. And this was well before he got into his first trouble at Iowa, not after the fact. There was NO LIGHT in this kid's eyes and it was striking compared to his teammates. (Kind of like the picture of Larson in this article, but that might just be a result of talking about an uncomfortable subject)

In fact, people jumped on me for my comments at the time. I didn't say he was going to have substance abuse problems, but I did say that it appeared as if something was seriously wrong.

Please remember, he is basically a kid, one that likely is made out to be a celebrity in his school, and one that college coaches are chasing. It is very easy to think you are too special to have problems, but he is still a kid. They make a lot of mistakes, and 98% of them you aren't aware of because nobody gets caught.

I had no problem with the article or his position on Iowa. I wish him well, sounds like he has a nice opportunity, and does not have to worry about a potential blow-up next year, no fans in the stands, negativity, etc. Florida is more stable for him.
