Coaches turning down interviews

Here is the question.

Over the years it seems to me that when a coach announces he isn't interested in such and such job, it is usually more that he knows/has been told he isn't a candidate for the job.

Anyone else seem to have this same outlook?

Yes. It is a way for them to turn a major blow to their ego into a major stroke of it as people in their current city all fawn over how lucky they are to have said coach.

Quick and easy way to earn some major PR points in your city

Just maybe coaches are not impressed with who would be their new boss. The old saying, don't take a job if you don't think the AD will be around long.

Here's hoping that Tennessee takes it all. Because when you reach the toppermost of the poppermost you might be ready for a new challenge.
