Coaches Treated Game Like a Scrimmage

Except that, ummmmmmm...we didn't even TRY to do that. Did you even watch the game? Serious question. We ran the same offense in the 4th quarter that we ran the entire game (55 pass attempts? Gotta be a KF-era record) it's just that Rudock didn't suck as bad during the last 5 minutes.

He didn't suck Because he had no choice but to look down field .

If he can come to terms with the concept that it's ok to take a certain amount of risk by standing in the pocket longer and throwing to guys who are not wide open he can be a very good QB.

Well see if that happens .

OP's point has some merit.

As Deace pointed out, why bring in CJB at all? What did it accomplish game wise, program wise, player development wise?

Bupkis, that's what. That one-series move was certainly scrimmage-like in its mentality. I don't get it.

If CJB is here next year, color me surprised.

Counter argument. Davis proved to KF that JR won't and possibly can't stretch the field and CJ will.

There are receivers running longer routes and getting open and not being thrown to all while the QB is not experiencing pressure.

Wrong. According to Gamefilm's most excellent write up, there were 12 deep passes on Saturday. One was CJ's. That means Jake threw deep 11 times. Granted none were completed, but just throwing it deep will keep the defenses a tad bot honest. Completing a few this week.against ISU will keep Pitt really honest.
