First off, great job Jon.

On to business.

Coach Parker brought up many times his excitment about freshman Alvis and his natural ability. Coach said that Alvis is "too smart to be a Defensive lineman", which got a pretty good laugh.

Coach comment several times about Tarpinian as middle linebacker and how great he has looked the past ten days.

I am sure JM can post more, these are the points that stick out the most.

sounds like we know 3 of our 2011 starting dline. de--lebron daniel and dominic alvis, dt--mike daniels. norm mentioned that klug is the toughest guy. some guy asked about bernstine, norm mentioned that he looked gimpy and was slower than before and not recovered from the injury. kept talking about alvis and tarp. mentioned hunter and nielsen. no mention of troy johnson. norm mentioned that alvis needs less smart *** and more kick ***. brands demonstrated a grandby roll on stage after jon miller was talking about doing grandby rolls from his knees while watching the hawks. brands pointed out that grandby rolls are not done from the knees and showed one on the stage. said you have to have a set to finish a grandby in competition.

Thank you. Was a lot of fun. I was happy to hear Parker single him out in such a positive way. Will write down some notes tomorrow as I just got home and 4:30 is gonna come soon. Sitting next to Norm at the dinner table was a treat. He and Brands might be the most entertaining speakers on the I-Club circuit

Jon,

Great job last night. Good to see you. I think the last time was when you were sitting next to me when I picked Phil Simms.

Has Norm Parker every been a head coach in his career or has he always been a defensive coach? Just curious. Has he ever had a collegiate head coach position?

Binns is just a junior this year. So he will be back at defensive end in 2011. I could see Alvis in 2011 being the kind of "supersub" at DE, much like Clayborn and Ballard were as freshman. They were real sparkplugs when they came in (and they've shown us all why in the 2 years since then.).
