Coach _____ is better than Kirk.

Enough complaining and perhaps he tries the NFL. He's got enough money to live on well forever, he's done a lot at Iowa, perhaps enough complaining and he decides to give it a shot. Wouldn't blame him for it either.

I'm fine with Kirk's sideline demeanor, but I could care less if we've got a hothead on the sidelines, as long as he wins games. Kirk is a great guy, but that doesn't mean his coaching can't be questioned at times. Unfortunately, being a great guy and winning football games are two separate things. It would be nice to have someone who is both, but since we're talking about a football coach, I'd take the guy who wins over the nice guy.

Monday thru Friday there may not be a better coach.

Come Saturday there are certainly a few mistakes made. After a loss, Kirk always says we have to correct some of the mistakes we made in the game but he does not address some of the poor game day mistakes of his own.

Not going for it on 4th and 1 on their 20 yard line tells the players he has no confidence in them

Likewise, with 1:20 left and 2 TO's to burn with the ball on our 20 and he runs the clock out tells the players he has no confidence in them.

I think Kirk is a great coach (especially teaching the fundamentals Mon-Fri) but he needs to become a little less predictable and conservative.

Not many and even fewer could get an NFL job at the drop of a hat like KF could.

Not anymore he can't. There isn't an NFL team that would touch Kirk with a ten foot pole.

Try playing for OT in the NFL when there is 1:17 left and 2 timeouts and see where that gets you.

Kirk is good, but he is not even top 5 in country. Saban is by far the best and there are other great coaches like Stoops that I would take any day over Ferentz.

I honestly don't get the Bob Stoops love. Big Game Bob consistently chokes in the biggest games. He's not on the same level as Saban, Meyer, Chris Peterson, Teh Hatter, or even Chip Kelly.
I get that he's a Hawkeye, but he's not the guy we'll need when KF retires.

Maybe not, but Stoops is 10-2 in the Bedlam Series (OU vs. Okla St), including the last 8. And traditionally Okie St is superior to ISU...

Just sayin'...

Stoops may be bad in the big game, but at least he will get you there.
