I dont have a problem with ISU joing the B10. If they get invited on their own merits, so be it.
I do have a problem with Clown fans trashing the B10 conf for years and then begging the BoR, the Gov, the Senators and mother Theresa to force IOWA to get them invited.
They can **** off.
I've got a deal for you Clown fans. Put up a billboard of Jamie Pollard begging the Iowa Hawkeyes to help them get into the B10. Then MAYBE we can discuss it.
Until then, you have trumpeted the genius of Pollard for eveything else, let him get you out of this mess.

Now is the time if you are an ISU fan that you need to stand by your team no matter where they land. I was listening to the radio and heard storys of some ISU fans saying they wouldn't support the team if they were no longer in a BCS conference. I really hope that doesn't happen. ISU is the victim of the all mighty dollar in this situation and it sucks. I guess now we will see just how good Jamie Pollard is. It's going to be interesting to see what he can do with this mess.

Oh, I plan on sticking by them and rooting for them regardless. But, I don't think they will land in a BCS conference, and I don't think they'll be a division 1 football school in a decade. But, I'll still root for them regardless. And, they'll still get my attendence, dollars, and support.

However, I will need a new D1 team since I love college football so much, even if my favorite team is no longer a part of the big stage. That's where the Huskers come in.

Seriously, my respect for Iowa fans has declined simply from reading this thread. Some of the juvenile idiocy being spotted is just embarrassing...I take solace in the fact that message boards are not emblematic of fan bases in general.

ISU will emerge from this in a BCS conference. Things are chaotic now, but Pollard will take an aggressive approach and get things moving where they need to be. If that's in a BCS conference Mountain west than so be it...I'm actually excited about that idea. If the Mountain West leaders and Big East remnants join a rump Big 12...all the better. Either way things remain BCS and that's the key issue.

Mesaclone, how can you say that you have lost respect for Iowa fans? It was ISU4LYF that wished this on Iowa. Again, the majority of Iowa fans do not mind ISU, but whenever we lose, we hear about it forever!! Iowa has nothing to gain at all by playing ISU in anything. Maybe if your Punk of an A.D. didn't go throwing up billboards near Iowa City claiming this as a Cyclone state and making McDermott include in his presser when hired that ISU was better than Iowa, more Iowa fans would sympathize with ISU.
Also, which BCS conference will take Iowa State? The SEC is the only one that makes sense, but ISU does not improve their athletic reputation so that will not happen.
Pollard just might learn a lesson here, and maybe he will give the University of Iowa the respect they have earned/deserved.
Finally, your football coach even said it when he was hired that ISU has no reputation. So again, tell me how you've lost respect for Iowa fans...besides our responses to morons like ISU4LYF coming to our board and causing some ridiculous responses that he asks for?

It didn't say "Iowa fans", I referred to fans posting on this thread...many of which were childish and outright moronic. Nor did I stick up for ISU4LYF. The respect that's been lost, as I said, is for those acting like idiots ON THIS THREAD. I'd also say that calling the ISU Athletic Director a punk is a pretty clear indication of maturity level as well. And not in a good way.

Which BCS conference will take ISU?

Answer: If the remaining Big 12 schools join the Mountain West, it instantly becomes a BCS conference. Conversely, if the leading MWC schools join in a rebuilt Big 12 along with a couple of Big East leftovers...THAT becomes a BCS conference.

So that's two pretty darn good options.

Financially I understand why it's important to at least hope ISU ends up in a BCS conference.

However, when it comes to the actual BCS bowl bid why would any ISU fan really care about that? You have to actually contend for a BCS bowl for the bid to even matter. The Cyclones couldn't reach a BCS bowl game playing in the Big 12 north (when Nebraska was terrible)... I doubt they could if they were competing in the Mountain West even if it was deemed BCS worthy.

I used to have respect for Cyclone fans until I saw all the threads on Cyclone Fanatic. Blaming long dead guys, Iowa, The Curse of the Bambino and everything else for this situation.
Then there is the demands of the BoR's stepping in, Culver, Harkin and Grassley.
Listening to all the ISU fans whining about their lot is getting old.
ISU will emerge from this.
