Clowns are getting desperate

I hope when this 16 team league dissolves they vote out teams like Iowa that add nothing and you as a fan must have to go through this.

I love how he openly admits that in his "situation" his institution adds nothing to their current conference. Then he goes on to wish his current fate upon us. Classic.

I like the ISU fans that in one breath says Iowa brings nothing to the Big Ten and is luck to have a seat then in the next breath wants the Board of Regents and others to make Iowa use its power to get ISU in the Big Ten. So does Iowa have pull in the Big Ten or not???

To be quite honest I thought the article was actually very interesting and very well thought out. I was all ready to laugh at it at first but there was nothing distasteful about it at all. For example I didn't know that ISU had as much success at basketball until reading the article. Some of the information I was not even aware of but even with these good qualities that ISU may have, I still don't think ISU will get in. Regardless of what goes on none of us have any control over it and I would say that there is at the very, very best a 5-10% chance that they are even considered. If they were to somehow get in I would be pretty upset with the Big 10. When you aim for a school...aim high. The B10 set a standard when we got PSU and we should not settle for anything less than that standard which is a pretty high one. I just don't think ISU makes the cut IMO.

My new name for Iowa State? Still ISU, but it now stands for Inconsequential State University....Enjoy your road trips to Montana or Idaho or where ever else the Mountain plays...

Personally I look forward to seeing them play in their McDonald rip-off uniforms on the "Smurf-Turf" in Boise :)

The NFL and BCS and other assorted prestigious bowls played in nice places would beg to differ.

And then there's the Hayden Fry coaching tree. But I'll refrain from piling on.

I hope they get sued for using Big Ten logos and university logos. Those are some stupid arguments and they don't add a single thing other than annoying and uneducated fans. I say good riddence and let the I-AA or the MAC take you. :)

I dont have a problem with ISU joing the B10. If they get invited on their own merits, so be it.
I do have a problem with Clown fans trashing the B10 conf for years and then begging the BoR, the Gov, the Senators and mother Theresa to force IOWA to get them invited.
They can **** off.
I've got a deal for you Clown fans. Put up a billboard of Jamie Pollard begging the Iowa Hawkeyes to help them get into the B10. Then MAYBE we can discuss it.
Until then, you have trumpeted the genius of Pollard for eveything else, let him get you out of this mess.

Fixed.

Cliche- I dont hate the University. It's a good University for an education, but I don't want them admitted because of their fans. Nebraska fans are just as obnoxious, but they can back it up with victories or previous National titles.

Rational Cyclone fan here - I have no delusion that we'll get invited to the Big 10. It may make sense from an academic standpoint, but let's be honest, all the talk about this being about academics is bogus.

In fact, I think we'll be left without a conference period, and I honestly think that our status as a D1 football school will go by the wayside in less than 10 years.

But, I look at it this way - there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. I'll still root for them regardless of where they end up. And, I can see the big picture - we are not a relevant athletic school. Some ISU fans have a hard time accepting that. It sucks for me to say it, but it's reality.

My wife is a Husker and I have slowly started to go over to the dark side over the last few years, and I think that transformation will become complete this year now. Of course, my 3 closest friends are diehard Hawk fans and I spend a lot of time with them. Who knows, that dark side may win out with me, too. :)

Last thing - do be thankful for being in such a great conference. There are a lot of schools our there (not just ISU, KSU, KU, MO, etc) that are jealous of what the Big 10 has created and is creating.

Rational and well said. I agree. It sucks that you feel that you may be forced to switch sides at all but I guess it's a choice you will have to make for yourself. I am 100% confident in the Big 10 and never thought things would get to this point. Thank you for the compliment of the Big Ten and I can assure you that we as a whole don't (and never will)take our conference for granted. Like you we are all just watching and waiting. What is truly scary is that nothing has happened yet and look at what has become of all of this nothingness so far. Absolutley crazy!

Iowa has nothing to do with the predicament ISU is in. If you want to start blaming people, there are a whole host of candidates. Look at USC for example. They paid Bush to play for them, now they are going to get sanctioned for it. Therefore the Pac 10 is looking for a new big dog to tide them over until USC can get back up and running again. They see the big 10 looking at Nebraska, and jump in to get Texas - then they blame Nebraska for the break up of the big 12. There is no way that loosing just Nebraska should break up the big 12, one team can be replaced.

So why would you wish ill will on Iowa for this? I could see if the big ten took two big twelve teams - then maybe you could hold the big ten and Iowa responsible. But then again according to some ISU fans, if an earthquake swallowed Ames, it would somehow be Iowa's fault. I can't believe you haven't been banned yet. Go take your misguided rage somewhere else. Go to a Texas board and flame them, they are the real reason this is all happening.

Now is the time if you are an ISU fan that you need to stand by your team no matter where they land. I was listening to the radio and heard storys of some ISU fans saying they wouldn't support the team if they were no longer in a BCS conference. I really hope that doesn't happen. ISU is the victim of the all mighty dollar in this situation and it sucks. I guess now we will see just how good Jamie Pollard is. It's going to be interesting to see what he can do with this mess.
