Clemmons is a BALLER

Im not saying he is better than Mike G. They are different. Just want to make that clear. I think Clemmons could start but I dont know that I would start him right now.

I think who you start on this team could go a bunch of different ways and you could make a good argument for all those ways.
This!!! You nailed it OOTH. I personally like Gesell at point best but thats just me. All three offer something different and that's a good thing.

I still believe what I said last season...Clemmons and Gesell will be the starting backcourt the next 2 seasons. Think about how much experience these 2 guys already have as sophomores. They should be pretty special both individually and collectively in 14 and 15.

I haven't seen highlights of the first 2 games this year..but Clemmons performance against Iowa State his freshman year has always been stuck in the back of my mind. He made huge shots and played with a confident swagger. There's no doubt he has the game, I just think the depth chart hurt him last year and he never really had a role on that team. Obviously with Dev leaving these guys won't have to rely or worry about him forcing shots. Clemmons could really peak this year.

If he can make free throws and open shots then he will be on the floor a lot. He has been subbed for defense at the end of games so add offense to the mix and you get a heck of a ball player.

Indeed. If AC can continue to hit the 3 ball the way he's been, that's a major bonus for the offense that I wasn't counting on coming into this season.

Between Clemmons, Uthoff and Gesell (who I still refuse to believe is a poor shooter, we'll see), we should always have at least 2-3 good outside shooters on the floor at all times, with a good inside presence. That includes Oglesby & Jok who should see quite a bit of time as well, so we (at long last) have several guys who can stroke it from deep.

If Iowa can keep hitting the 3's, that can only help loosen things up for Woody & White in the paint. That's been missing the last however many years.

I'm loving the balance of this team so far - lots of places the points can come from. Even if there is no single go-to guy, there are lots of options.

Bingo. The better Iowa shoots from the outside the more points we will see from Woody, Gabe and White.

Good point.

You're right. Clemmons is a BALLER.
He's been clutch. Good body strength that many guards can't handle. Quick. He's fun to watch.

It appears at times he loses focus.

He's always been a baller. It killed me when Jo would get more minutes than him last year.
The guy is one of the more talented players on the team.

Its good to see Clemmons playing a lot. Iowa has a lot of guards with a lot of potential. Clemmons doesn't seem to get shaken very easily. Last year against Michigan state he didn't have a great game, but he seems to be a money type player.

What? I like Clemmons and I'm glad he's off to a good start but this is a guy who over the course of the previous two years has been the definition of shaky. He has a TO rate of over 30% for his career. The reason he wasn't able to stay on the floor last year was because of how turnover prone he was against good defenses.
