CJFED breakout year?

I'm gonna hold out on deeming this offense completely horrific until I see the offense ran after its been implemented/learned/taught/recruited for.
There's no way GD had success with it for years if it was so bad.
May I suggest you do the same?

He ran the zone read at Texas. There was no Kirk Ferentz at Texas.

No. His mistake was not converting to an O lineman. I like the kid, but he can't run. Maybe that's because he followed tony frickin mo, but the dude gets tripped up by an ant.....that said, I do hope he has a good year, but if that's the case, chances are we didn't target anyone deep again

The captain is gone after 2014 if things don't get better. It's difficult for me to imagine it being worse after last season but there have a few predicting it will be worse with maybe only three wins this upcoming season. This is where the captain usually pulls a rabbit out of his hat when expectations are low. If we have a three win season he will need to pull his head out of his..........

Doubtful... even when he had the few opportunities he did in space with one guy to make miss or to shed a tackle it seemed he was always wrapped up. He may have all the tangibles but he just doesnt seem to be what i call a gamer. Just doesnt have the heart and desire to get it done when it counts.

I disagree with the idea that he can't improve in the open field. It seemed all the tacklers would dive at his thighs/knees. With a little more work on lower body strength and (more importantly) agility/ balance exercises he can break those tackles and make bigger plays.
As for questioning his heart/desire... Do you have a link or evidence of this or are you just assuming he doesn't want to be good?

Fair or not... he was a highly hyped athlete out of high school who was anticipated to have an impact and i cant recall one big play he has made. Maybe i was off by questioning his heart but sometimes guys just have something deep down and find a way to shine when it counts and i havent seen that from CJ.

Not trying to flame ya, but I just don't agree with questioning someone's heart unless you have the inside scoop or it comes straight from the horse's mouth.
As for the big plays, I can remember a couple big play catches for CJF (off the top of my head vs Minny and Nebby). However, the same can be said for many other players from last year's team.
I also believe his lack of production last year had a direct tie to the poor poor offense as a whole. And you can't hold that against him, hype or not.
