CJB, himself, on his health

He denied the sports hernia thing.

No doubt he is beat up...but if they didn't think he was going to play, I doubt he would have been out there taking questions...and no, Kirk does not want them speaking specifically about injuries.

If it's a sports hernia, the medical staff (unless they are horribly negligent) has to put him on the shelf.

So it better not be one.

Too bad the bye isn't this week instead of next week. And players can sometimes play with a sports hernia. Saw D. McNabb do it for one.

CJ might think he knows whats going on, but my inside source is deep inside CJ's body in some kind of miniature vessel and he sees what going on and its not good.

That's just gross dude. And if it's that miniature, it can't be that deep inside.

Not necessarily true. Depends on severity.

Speaking also from personal experience, although it wasn't against a Big Ten defense. Nothing crazy or irresponsible about playing with a partial hernia using compression pants/support, then going into surgery next day. After which he could be practicing 2-3 days later.

Well I hope that's the case if he's got one. Prolly help to not get lit up a dozen times a game. Speaking of which, WTF is wrong with Boone Myers?

The real question is if CJB is playing at 50%, is he still giving Iowa their best chance to win? I'm guessing the answer is yes, but waves of anxiety still roll over me thinking about it.

Via @marcmorehouse Periscope on CJB, asked about how he feels, he said 'nothing serious'.I feel good. I think I will be out there for sure'
Or maybe these are just the inartful words of a college junior, and we all have too much time on our hands to evaluate every word choice.

If I am reading the political posturing of this right, CJB has been beaten in practice by Wiegers and just lost the starting job. So he starts a rumor about a sports hernia injury so it looks like he is out because of an injury. Like Ferentz believes in the old NFL maxim that a starting quarterback never loses his spot because of an injury. This is getting even more interesting.

I don't see an advantage for CJ's or the staff's credibility by knowingly lie about his physical condition? Why would the staff ask CJ to knowingly lie and his condition?

Was thinking same thing. jNW is going to prepare for CJ, regardless. If CJ doesn't play, then jNW puts their feet up and watch a RS FR hand off to a soon to be injured JC. CJ saying he's playing, even if he can't/won't, doesn't make a difference in jNW's game prep.

A "Fantastic Voyage" reference where the doctor is miniaturized and placed into a body to heal the body, I hope?

Dude's getting shellacked at least a dozen times per game.

Fatty Pitz is gonna blitz the hell out of The Ceej (assuming he's out there) and try to knock him from the game.

These gd tackles better strap in.

Exactly. I hope to god Kirk has finally learned you can't just keep doing the same thing, (we're just going to do what we do) you have to adjust to the inevitable above. Fitz knows CJ is vunerable and that he's key to our success. Combine that with his ridiculous baggage from his injury vs Iowa and the are going to come after CJB bigtime.

Please Kirk...see it coming.

This could account for CJB's throwing behind receivers late in the Illinois game and going almost exclusively to the run.

When the heck did this all come about. Did he even look injured last Saturday? Anybody see him with a gimp in his running.

Is this a ploy to goof with N'western?

Yeah I don't get this stuff at all. Everyone is saying he's got a hernia and is at 50%. If the hernia were true he'd be out and having surgery. No way they play him with that. Ferentz expects him to play as does CJ its all BS.
