CJ Beathard

The problem is anymore it doesn't do you a damn bit of good to be able to handle yourself because the days of a simple fist fight are over. Anymore someone has a knife or gun, and usually are more than willing to use it. Throw alcohol in the mix and bad things happen. Condolences to CJ and his family.

I agree. When I was a young lad we would get into altercations (not many really) and you wouldn't even think a knife was going to come out. It was all testosterone and fists only. WTF? It's only getting worse as the younger grow up. I don't think many of the younger (those kids growing up in bad situations or broken homes) have the conscious or empathy like we did when young. It gets worse and worse every year. The school systems now are loaded with "behavior kids" who just don't get it or acknowledge authority. Kids then start packing weapons when get older and can't determine between what is right and wrong. Kid's don't understand consequences this day and age.

Sad deal. Was it like in the back alley they fought? Or how is there not more witneses to point out the guy that did it? This was down town Nashville right? Even at 3 am on a Friday night/Sat morning that area is hopping. I'm surprised the guy got away without being ID'd and chased after. Cops are crawling all over downtown too. I wonder if since Clayton had he and another guy with him they thought they had him out numbered 3 to 1 and had nothing to be scared of. Knives and weapons can level the playing field in that regard pretty quick. Hopefully they find/catch the guy pretty quick.

Midtown is actually perhaps a mile from the Bridgestone Arena area honky tonks. It's over near Vanderbilt University, which may have been a little slower with the students on semester break. There's still plenty of tourists that frequent Midtown, however. And it's still a live music Mecca, so it wouldn't have been a ghost town either.

Ah ok yeah I know where that kinda is too. That's the opposite direction of downtown. From Bridgestone where the Preds play hockey downtown is strait north on that same street. A million bars/restaurants and touristy shops are on either side of the street till you get to the river where once you cross it is the NFL stadium where Titans play. Vandy is south of there aways. I've only cruised that area once and never walked around can't say I know it know it. But yeah with students all gone it may very well have not been as lively in that area at 3 am. Hard telling I suppose. What a sad ass deal.

Simple fist fights? Maybe among friends.

Murder rates are down.

Agree with everything you said.

Our group wanted to see music row on the peddle tavern ride we did. Seeing it was like seven decades of a history book opening up. The drawback was that we stopped at only one bar (Clyde's?) on the edge of the Vanderbilt campus. Clyde's was cool as hell but we agreed next time we would do a peddle tavern downtown in the lower Broadway disctrict where there were more bar stops.

We did take in lower Broadway however. Like every night we were there and most of the afternoons. We got a group picture taken on the riverfront with the Titans stadium in the background.

Looks like they have charged a guy and are trying to find him. Michael Mosley, 23. Long history of violence and arrests.

Honestly it's hard to go wrong if you're in Nashville. Capital of the bachlorette parties. You can't go a block and not run into a couple groups of those it seems like.

He actually just got out of prison.

For stabbing someone.

what is wrong with this picture? this perp is only 23 yet if this is right he already went to prison for stabbing someone and already got out at the tender age of 23.

well that judge put down a hell of a light sentence. this guy was put away for violent act and should have been away for 15 years or more.

hell i have seen non violent embezzlelers and robbers without weapons get 20 year sentences
