CJ Beathard will start Taxslayer Bowl

I think this all came down to actuarial science and CJ just breaks down and Slays The Taxes better than Jake.

The fact that some troll even posted that Tweet and then you guys are having a discussion on this is ludicrous.

I clicked on this thread expecting .

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never goons run around and desert you

Etc.

Now if CJ starts it would be becaue either Jr. is injured or failed that organic chem class.

I have more inside knowledge than Tirrell.

I actually liked him on the radio, but him and his dentist are not good sources.

Well...I'm still on the Ferentz bandwagon...because...well...I am a sucker.

I would love to CJ start the bowl game...but a little bit of me would be pretty ticked off at Kirk...how would that rationale work? He's not good enough to play at all with a stagnant offense in 1st half of Wisky or 2nd half of Nebraska....but is good enough to start the bowl game? WHAT?

But at the end of the day...while the offense left a lot to be desired this year...I still maintain this year was a defensive problem...Everyone knew if Iowa got the ball back against Wisky we were going to win that game...and then the offense gave the defense a lead with less than two minutes left vs the Huskers....the facts are, when the bright lights were on...the Iowa defense wilted.

There is a logical reason the D faded in the second half. They simply were tired. Five straight three and outs will do that to a team that doesn't have 4/5 star reserves sitting on the bench raring to go....

I haven't read anywhere that KF has decided to start CJ.....

If this turns out to be true then why/or what the hell was the reason CJ didnt get any snaps against Wisky and Nebby? Incredible. A sluggish first half against Wisky could have been overcome by one or two CJ drives. And the poor second half against Nebby with the 5 straight 3 and outs could have been overcome by an infusion of some CJ.

All true. Better late than not at all though.

This only happens if Rudock misses the plane or gets injured. Tirrell is trying to do two things. Generate buzz for himself and troll hawk fans.

It would be funny if CJ started had a great game and then transferred. If I was CJ I would not believe anything Careful Kirk told me.
Maybe Davis is trying to keep CJ on the team... I don't see KF suddenly and totally giving the reins of the offense to Davis.
Then again, it's against Tennessee... CJ is from Tennessee. Maybe it's a token one series start. For sure if CJ doesn't produce quickly, he's outta there... Unless the whole thing is an attempt to keep CJ on the team... Then it's three series.

What would be your opinion if KF is attempting to prevent the OC - Davis from retiring by allowing Davis' QB to play and because of his play, CJ possibly staying at Iowa? How convoluted of a sentence is that? How much of a troll am I?

That analysis of why Iowa lost to Nebraska.. That's some pretty lame analysis. Iowa lost because the defense couldn't defend the pass and consequently the field was opened up for Nebraska's athleticism to shred Iowa's defense. You can't win games with a game manager's offense if the defense isn't good. No pass rush, not for seasons, now. No pass defense. No athleticism in the defense. Iowa's defense wasn't good this season.

I think we see CJ no matter what. I would like to see him get the nod to see how he does. We need an injection of some excitement in this upcoming game. Tennessee is young... But hungry and athletic as heck. They are going to be ready to play.

Not sure I can connect the caption to your post, KnightHawk. The caption should be the opposite of what's being posted? For example, should I post it's cold outside and have a picture of (what you may consider) global warming to be?

Sneaky politics. I know politics shouldn't be allowed on this board, so why are they, KnightHawk? For your info, W. said he would topple the regime in Iraq and that is just what he did. Hence, the mission accomplished sign.

This doesn't F'en make sense. Why now. krist, you might as well start Rudock now & play CJ in the game. If true, this shows how bipolar this coaching staff is. So, you took one QB & crushed his mind all year, and now you crush the other QB (starter) in the last game.

I'm not against CJ starting by any means and he should have gotten more PT over the course of the year, but doing this the last game and potentially crushing Jake's confidence just doesn't make much sense to me.

dude. its not true. that's exactly why it does not make sense. the guy on twitter had no grounds for tweeting what he tweeted. He's just a guy with a device and an idea.
