Christian Williams signs

I think Williams is probably the most likely redshirt coming in next year. He already has two seniors ahead of him and I don't think Christian is expecting immediate playing time(though he'd probably like some). He waited a long time for an offer from Iowa so I think he'll be more accepting of a redshirt than maybe the others who came in with higher expectations.

I'm really excited to see what these newcomers can do. Can we start basketball already?

I'm with ya. Let's hoop it up right now. And I agree w/u to a degree on Williams redshirting as Fran would have to willingly go into '16 with no pg game experience. I think it'd be worth burning the RS and get him tons of minutes at pg in the '15 non conference so he'd be ready in '16. MG and Sapp don't need those minutes and you can save their legs for the B1G. Plus, MG can play "some" 2. We shall see. I trust that Fran will make the right choices.

Yep and it took Wisconsin having two borderline lottery picks and another future NBA pick up front to make up for their backcourt. And it caught up to them in the title game as Duke killed their guards.

The main reason that "Duke killed their guards" is because Wisconsin could not defend the pick and roll at the top of the key. Kaminsky's man was setting the pick and he didn't hedge. He called out the pick each time but stepped back so the defender either a) went under the pick so that the Duke guards could shoot an open three at the top of the key, or b) got used by the pick so that the Duke guards could shoot an open three at the top of the key. It was the way Wisconsin had defended the pick and roll all season and Duke dismantled it.

That and the fact that Jackson and Gasser went 1/8 shooting on the night and gave Wisconsin nothing positive at all on the offensive end.

Wisconsin battled Kentucky for 40 minutes to make the finals. And then played another quality team 2 days later. Duke handled Michigan State with minimal effort. Duke had extra bounce in their step IMO...especially late in the game.

Why are people acting like it was some fluke that Duke beat Wisconsin?? Duke beat them early in the year, and they beat them again. Wisconsin struggled to shoot in both games Vs Duke, because Duke had the better players on the court. They shot 41% both games, they simply are not as good as Duke, and it was proven twice on the court.

Duke will go down in history as the national champion. They are a good team. To say that Wisconsin couldn't beat Duke would be inaccurate. If Kentucky would of won the national championship this year, they probably would of been considered the top team in college basketball history. Kentucky had a good team too. The Duke team that won the national championship this year won't be considered the best team in college basketball history. I was pretty happy that Kentucky lost and I wouldn't have to hear about them again.

I'm not suggesting it was a fluke. But I think playing Kentucky (rather than Michigan State) in the semi-finals was certainly a factor.

Okafor was on the bench most of the game with foul trouble too.

Only by the hot take crowd who has no sense of historical perspective.
