Christian Vital

I wouldn't be surprised if someone transfers, but maybe Fran is also just being proactive and putting out the feelers just in case there's room on the roster.

Maybe Jones is toast. He has had several knee injuries. Just one awful knee injury ended Cooper's football career. Plus, we have heard absolutely nothing about his rehabilitation.

Here's what ESPN has to say about him. Do we really need a guy like this?

"His best attribute is toughness" ... I'm in!

As others have said, hopefully that doesn't mean Jok is gone. Fran's interviews the last few days reassured me, but who knows.

Fran said a month ago that Dale is doing great and will be practicing in 2 or 3 months.

If you watch his highlight clips...he is a bit of a chest-thumper and a talker... If Fran + maturity reigns that in a bit he'll be fine. I'll take that over guys that fold up when it gets tough.

Have to be pro active at all times and have a few guys on the "list" just to let them know you are interested if there is an opening. You can't wait and try to build a relationship later.
Do we know for sure if Dale Jones is coming back? I thought he has had multiple knee surgeries and there was an outside chance he may decide to hang em up if his knees don't recover?

I suppose that is possible. But it has been said soon after the surgery that it was successful. Then recently that he is recovering well. So I doubt that is it. And I hope not! I am counting /hoping he plays significant minutes next year. The guy was just getting into it and on a roll when the knee gave out this year. Playing good D, rebounding well and leading the team in 3pt shots. We can use a guy like this...

Wouldn't he have to sit out a year? And there still doesn't appear to be a scholly open as of today.

Vital wouldn't have to sit out, he just decommitted from UNLV he didn't transfer. If he can play PG we need to do whatever we can to land him

As long as he's got some toughness, some desire to win and can back it all up with smart play and crunch-time performance, dude can fist-pump and chest-thump and moon all the court-side blue-hairs for all I care.

Yeah, I messed that first part up on Vital. And I agree with your second part and I'm sure Fran does as well.

Wouldn't Iowa have to have 2 schollys opened to do it if they are wanting to give one to Baer? Now if say only one was to open (which is still an assumption at this point maybe nobody will end up leaving) then I wouldn't blame Fran one little bit if he were to tell Baer sorry not sorry he'll have to wait... It's similar to how UNI recruits for football. The out of state kids they really want they'll offer full rides or 80% or so. But instate kids they'll offer 50-40%. You do what you gotta do to get the best kids to come. I kinda hope it don't play out that way for Baers sake but I just don't think 2 kids or more are leaving. But I could be wrong who knows yet....

I would think at least two players are leaving. Fran did say he wanted to give Baer a scholarship as soon as possible and he's still trying to add to 2016 so it adds up there will be a couple departures

I just read an article on him. Sounds like UConn has the inside track on him. He's an East coast kid... Feels like this is a long shot...

Nobody on the team has apparently been gung-ho about getting out of Dodge to this point it seems since it's been 9 days since the season ended. I know it's only been nine days but you have heard about dozens of other transfers hitting the wire already.

I still think if anyone leaves it will be next year. They are all on a D-1 scholarship and should have enough confidence that they will be one of the guys in the rotation. There are a lot of minutes up for grabs.
